  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Between the two of us (we'll be married by then), we could afford it. Having lived up there I know what to expect and I have been checking it out quite a bit. We will be prepared for when we go. I mean alot will happen in ten years, but I have plenty of time to prepare too.

Net swing against the Democrats, but not to the level expected for a mid-term election with an unpopular president and a recession looming.

Since WWII, the incumbent party in the House of Representatives typically loses 27 seats in the mid-terms. In the last four elections, the incumbents have typically lost 37 seats.

So far, it appears that Republicans have a net gain of about 8 seats.

There are 26 races still to be decided. Of these 8 are very likely to go to the Democrats and 8 are very likely to go to the Republicans (margins of greater than 2% with at least two thirds of votes counted)

10 are still a toss-up and could go either way.

If I was a gambling man, I'd say the Republicans pick up a total of 20 seats in this election, ending up with 229 seats in the House.

Not enough to be a complete majority.

In the meantime, what are Democrats doing to help the country? Record high inflation, high crime rates and a wide open southern border (just to nane a few) is not helping.
What high crime rates?

We need them more seats to be announced before we get the majority. Will we get there?

However, we'll have to wait and see if they find anymore ballots in the middle of the night.

Biden continues to break records.

Illegal Border Surge Under Biden Hits Highest Level Ever Recorded

https://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/immigration-border-crossings/2022/10/22/id/1093001/

Adn how many of these were arrested and deported.

As with Obama, the Deporter In Chief, I suspect that the left isn't happy about Biden's immigration policies.

The answer isn't arrests and deportations. Biden will indeed set records. The answer is new immigration law. Of course, this is unlikely to happen. The fact is that we need LOTS and LOTS of more legal immigrants.
