  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I suspect that Biden will be a lame duck very soon. That won't help us to solve our problems; but at least it will inhibit him from doing more damage. I pray that he doesn't drag us into a nuclear war to preserve his legacy.
If Putin goes nuclear or dirty bomb, how should we respond?

The President should be in regular communication with Putin, to ensure that isn't a possibility.

Diplomacy better serves the interests of the People, over the profits of the military industrial complex.

That might have worked 3 years ago, but with the current president, not so much.

Thank you for your opinion! Thankfully, many of us don't believe this way. I was upset at the win by the Republicans here in Florida, but glad my home state of Pennsylvania voted for the Democrats! Makes me proud to be a Pennsylvanian!

Yes, I still consider myself a Pennsylvanian even though I live in Florida. Every time I drive north to PA or NY and I cross the Mason Dixon I am infinitely happier. My fiance watched me the first time I did it, she said it was like all your stresses and worries just vanished.

Thankfully, making that drive over Thanksgiving to visit family in Upstate, NY.

Maybe Biden doesn't want to be viewed as colluding with the Russians to avoid wiping out life on earth as we know it?

And now biden retains the ability to blame it on Trump and his "extremist, Mega-MAGA, right-wing Republicans" for anyone still alive to receive the broadcast.

Yup, the Republicans put a couple of really lousy candidates in a couple races that would have been winnable with a better candidate. Never under estimate the republicans ability to shoot themselves in the foot.
Maybe the problem is with their voters...

In the meantime, what are Democrats doing to help the country? Record high inflation, high crime rates and a wide open southern border (just to nane a few) is not helping.
2 of the 3 you mentioned aren't real, so perhaps voters are thankful that Democrats are looking to engage in fixing real problems rather than made up right wing talking points such as the above. Or the aforementioned culture war nonsense.

Curiosity - why do you not live in PA right now? Sounds like a much better place to live for you.

So far, biden's message to Russia is that we're at war with them, which isn't very helpful if you want a peaceful world. Trump didn't have us at war with Russia, or with NK for that matter. Now we're facing war with Russia, North Korea, and China. Just an extension of "Change you can believe in, I guess".

All 3 are very real. Don't believe the Democratic lies. Especially from Biden.

Blame Trump is getting old. Even for the Democrats.

Trump was pro-America and built us up as best he could against a strong opposition force on the left, and among seated RINO's.

The set up on January 6th was designed to further sully his image as a pre-emptive strike. And because they knew he'd run again in 2024.

Biden said Trump was like a dictator for the Executive Orders he'd signed so to overcome Democrats opposition to his doing good for the country.

Biden is put into the office and signed more EO's in a day or two than did both Trump and Obama during his 8 years combined.
I can only hope for the best at this point.

Curiosity - why do you not live in PA right now? Sounds like a much better place to live for you.

I moved away when I was 24 to be with a girlfriend in NJ, We moved to Upstate, NY about four years later. Five years after that she wanted to be with someone else. I moved to Florida to be close to my family. Met someone and married her. We have two kids. She divorced me.

So I am not in PA now because life happens. I will not leave Florida because of those two kids I mentioned. At least not while they're minors. I will make it back up there again to live. Probably not near Philadelphia where I was raised. More like Central PA, closer to Williamsport or maybe even Upstate, NY. My fiance, a native Floridian wants out of this state as well. She loves it up in PA and NY. She too is a Democrat and is not happy with the political climate here in Florida.

So for now, I am where I am needed to be. No matter if this is a good place for me to live or not.

Awesome - thanks for the reply. Before you return, especially if you are looking at upstate NY - check the coast of living calculators to see if you can afford it.

When I moved from Upstate NY to Tulsa, OK it was a lateral move (same salary), but my take home went up 18%, between that and the difference in taxes it was a marked difference.
