  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I wonder why Genesis 2:22 doesn't say, "And then God found 22 basic points of interest for Adam, and thereby formed the perfect woman not from a rib, but from his needs and personal aspirations."

"And Adam said" Yes, .... Thank You E-Harmony."

........... I wonder why Gen. 2:22 doesn't put it that way?????

Just a thought.

I did a trial a while back, then quit. Then recently I filled out their profile thing again and it said I was unsuitable :p
I think that's what eHarmony tells everyone under age 21. If you're too young, then you can't be matched.

Well, I'm 26 so it's not that. Actually it was probably because of my selection criteria...I chose to find people only from my tri-state area. If I'd gone whole country it would've found people, since my personality stuff is pretty normal (or so I think :)). Maybe I'll try again at some point, it's not a huge priority.

I always wanted to actually meet an successful Christian married couple, or at least read about it or meet them at church or something..

It can provide many bad experiences > good experiences at times..

I did the free personality profile thing awhile back but never communicated with any of my matches. The main reason why is because of the money it costs. I'm just too broke to be spending that much money on something that might just be a waste of time. I guess if God's gonna bring me a man, he's gonna have to come free. ;-)

I joined a Christian singles dating site once out of curiosity and everything I saw just made my stomach churn. The effusive, "I saw your profile and determined right away that we are made for each other" messages just really annoyed me. The worst being a man who was old enough to be my father and kept telling me that even though I had already resisted his interest, he wanted me to give it to God and be open to what God might want to do between us. I asked for his respect in my ability to make wise decisions and kept firm, and it ended with him basically telling me he hoped I ended up in hell. A good experience? Not so much.

I tried Match.com, I don't know how it compared to Eharmony. I am not very agressive period, and even less so online.. (girls who are really guys is real common online). I just haven't ever felt an attraction to someone online, or wanted to date them. I guess it could be a way to meet people, and I have heard about it used successfully that way, but to find a mate through the selection criteria doesn't seem like it would work to me. I do know a number of people who get girlfreinds off of such sites, and my mom found her current husband off some site (I don't know if it was a pay site though).

I've not been on eharmony. I did try true.com ... they really manipuate thing! Like I couldn't send my email addy to someone. They cost bigtime too!

Was at a meetup.com singles meeting in the Boston are to talk about online dating just 2 weeks ago. 25 people there. Almost everyone didn't find people that even came close to matching them. So the cost was a waste.

A free site I do like where the uses is in complete control of their contacts is plentyoffish.com I've been on there a good month now. I like it.

that's my limited knowledge so far.

I have only satified my curiousity with free trails for various website. As stated before on one christian dating site I was approached my a man old enough to be my father and pretty much told me to go to hell when I didn't respond the way he wanted. Now I have several friends on plentyoffish that are getting out and dating...I don't know if the guys are marriage material or not...too soon to tell. I on the other hand...have decided that God will provide when it is time.

probably for the same reason Genesis doesn't say

'and God led Adam to a church* where He made a deep sleep to come over him and from his rib the Lord created a female parishioner who had to kick Adam out of his slumber to notice her so he could court her and God looked and saw that it was good that man and woman should meet one another at church' ;)

*you may also substitute church for any other generally accepted meeting places for Christians such as Bible school or Bible study.

I think CF should have a life stage section where we could match up with other CF members!!!
and it would be free

lifestages is meant to be a fellowship section and obviously if you start a forum up as an intended meet market the fellowship ain't gonna be there - everyone will have one thing on their minds - finding that special someone ;)

I think I bought 6 months up front and now I'm on continuous payments which I think is $19.95 a month. I've been on eharmony for about 3 years right now. I've had my matching turned off at various times because of relationships or school. If it wasn't for eharmony I would've only had two guys ask me out. I've had lots of first dates and three relationships. I go to two churches, one of which has a single's group and attend Christian dances, but only one guy from all of those activities has asked me out. I've tried most of the Christian dating sites, and eharmony has outperfomed all of them.

Most of the people who I've heard complain about eharmony expect to meet someone within six months and are unhappy when they don't. Some don't post pictures and complain that people close them or don't respond. If you're able to afford it, it can be a good tool if you don't expect miraculous results.

One of my recent matches got on because one of his friends married an eharmony match. I just found out that a co-worker got married to her eharmony match a few years ago.

I should mention that I retook the questions about six months ago as recommended by customer service; and my matches are much more compatible spiritually. I just wish I had closed my account during some of the times I wasn't interested in matching. I think they offer good deals to have you come back.
