Does anyone have any experience taking Effexor? How does it work for you? Any side effects?
The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Well if you haven't taken it how can you say it is horrible...and I thought that coming off of prozac was the pits...but not as bad as coming off drugs...it being on it isn't as bad as my depression was before I started taking it...4 attempted suicides for example...BohemianChris said:It's not just me. The side effects are horrible. And, like I said, coming off it will be horrible.
And, for the record, I've never taken it.

of course you can!! and glad that you do...as do I... I am glad that I found effixor...it saved my life...I suffer from PTSD(post tramatic stress disorder) and the depression is wicked bad!! black and deep...so anything that keeps me level and clear headed is a great med...I know that the docs at the VA are glad for it for it has helped alot of vets handle their depression...and when I get off from will be the happyiest days of my life...for then I know that I have beaten the odds and survived..BohemianChris said:Because I know people first-hand who have taken it. I can still have an objective opinion.
With best wishes,
