  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I stopped at the point where I realized the author is, once again, confusing evolution with the origin of life. If you cannot present the point accurately, you have lost my interest completely. The list of quote mines didn't help either.

The tile didn't make any sense at all. "Easy to be an atheist if you agnore science" ????
The tile? Where's the tile, I don't see it! Am I stepping on the tile?

It's always great fun when someone points out a spelling mistake, and makes one themselves.

I've done that. Makes me wish I could retroactively delete my post.

Not gonna lie, I had to double check my post before I sent it to make sure I didn't also make a mistake.

Yup! I had a typo too. However, even with the spelling corrected in the title it still doesn't make sense. "Easy to be an atheist if you ignore science". Isn't the general argument here (in the CF) just the opposite?

And I was so hoping it was a cleaver bit of word play, agnore as a reference to agnostic. Of course I know better, one should never expect something cleaver from certain groups.

Uh, no, the blog post is arguing just as the OP states. So yes, the OP title makes sense. (Regardless of whether it's a poor argument or not.)

Atheism still intact. No science demonstrating that deities exist ...
That's because you ignore it -- just as the OP says.

Thanks for the QED.
