i was studying the background of Easter recently
and i uncovered a disturbing truth behind it.
my post count isn't 50 so i cant link the sources.

but i know where the egg dyeing comes from now.
it was a ritual that involved eggs being dipped in the blood of sacrificed babies.
i really suggest people look into this.

It was a common practice to assimilate pagan holidays when ever the church moved into new regions.

All Hallows eve was a celebration on the day before a great pagan holiday (Nov 1) Christmas was the winter solestist. and passover/resurrection celebration took place around the same time the pagans celebrated Eostre.

For most this is not a big deal. then or now, because we are not bound to specific days to worship or observe as a means to obtain or maintain righteousness.

These days were simply set aside for the pagans being introduced to our religious practices.

It is only when we forget to pass along where we come from that any of this becomes any sort of issue (to our children)

Yup, the early catholic churched placed all of it's holidays on pagan holidays and made all of their pagan traditions mean something christian. It was really an ingenious strategy for catholics to "take away" another's religious traditions in order to spread their own.

That's why it's silly when people complain about the meaning of holidays because there's nothing remotely spiritual about the dates... like christmas; it was all an attempt to get the most converts with the least effort. Others complain about santa the most, but ironically, Santa is the only thing that came from christian tradition. Everything else like singing carols, parties, gifts, trees, lights, decorations, the colors used etc.. Those were all things Romans, druids, and pagans did

One of the main themes of the Bible is that God restores "what the locust hath eaten." All things belong to God, and God builds up the waste places, turns deserts into lands with Eden-like landscape. God takes a broken, sinful heart and fills it with Christ, and makes a new creation.

God is in the business of turning paganism into something that can be used for good. All the credit can't go to the Catholic church; it's God who works in these decisions, as weak as humans can be to make it into what it is today - God has worked harder to ultimately bring himself more glory.

HEAR YE!!!
HEAR YE!!!

God sent His only Begotten Son, as the Messiah for the World. And this Messiah promised a thief that had no time to do any good works, it wasn't even recorded that He repented from his evil ways. But simply Because this thief trusted in this Messiah called Jesus Christ, he was promised eternal life. For the Gift of God is eternal Life Through Jesus Christ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only link to blood I've ever seen regarding eggs is that some denominations paint them red to represent the Blood of Christ. This is the first time I've ever seen anyone say it had anything to do with sacrificing babies. Sounds a little far-fetched...

Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye
are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:
Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the
leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of
sincerity and truth.
(1Co 5:7-8)

How did we skip over this all together, and instead turn to a pagan holiday? All the feast Yahweh mandated point towards HIM. How do we miss that?

dont worry bout it I think every web page has a different account of how the pagan origins started. Us Christians didn't invent Easter with rabbits and eggs.

Give the pagans a break they dont have many claims to fame lol.

It sure don't hurt to open your eyes and see the world how it really is. initially it might disturb your faith but it will strengthen it when you realize what Christ has done to our world. Those things dont matter.
Another interesting thing to look up-

What the world was like before Jesus came

How early pagan things got incorporated into the early church- I once saw a documentary about how local worship of the egyptian god Isis was influential with the Holy mother Mary thing the early catholic church developed.

Its all worth knowing, because those that oppose Christianity will know it too and use it against us in discussion.

It also doesn't say to eat fish on good Friday in the bible. I still cant work out why people do it.

no where is it given in scriptures, that people were to celebrate Jesus riding the donkey into town, but they did. and when Jesus was told to make them stop, no where was it written that stones should worship Jesus but He said if the people didn't the stones would. no where was it written that mary should annoint Jesus and wash His feet with her tears But she did and she was edified for it. Jesus didn't tell the 1 guy to come back and give thanks after He healed ten and told them to go tell the priest. But he did and was edified for it. unbelievable !!!

so with this way of thinking, one would have to find out what days are celebrated as pagan holidays and we would not be allowed to worship God on those days. for the pagans already use those days as evil, we got it solved, we have to work around the pagans in order to truely worship God. hey, pagan I want to worship God today so, are you guys celebrating anything today. oh this would have to be pleasing to God, if we don't worship Him everyday. because the pagans have their celebrations on certain days does this mean that if a pagan holiday falls on a Sunday that we shouldn't go to church on that sunday. what a way for satan to get us to quit worshipping God, just simply make every day a pagan holiday!!!! unbelievable !!!!!!

Luke 19:37-40
37 And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen;
38 Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.
39 And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples.
40 And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.

I say just use common sense - we all know what Easter is about. How we celebrate it is up to us. "Some men eat meat, some weaker individuals abstain from meat. If my eating causes my brother to fall, I will not eat meat again, even though I know all things are clean as they are sanctified to the Lord."

Substitute cute bunnies and eggs, mixed into the reality of Christ's ascension, and as long as no one is offended by the cute little bunnies and eggs, it's OK. don't worry so much.

ok so if we take a pagan holiday and make it a christian holy day is this not purging out the old leaven. and making a new lump/holy day. so if we take an egg that was dunked in the blood of babies, and use that same object and die it with beautiful colors and say that this represent the beautiful life now offered by Christ is this not good. if we take a cedar tree with gold and silver that was once used to worship false gods, and say that the evergreen cedar represents eternal life that came with the birth of the Messiah is this not good, again I say what we do with things such as a computer makes the computer good or evil, the same with a holiday/holy day who you worship on that day is what counts not what object or day you use to worship with/on
