  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I had been watching folks do pen and wash techniques with technical pens and watercolors. I thought I would do something slightly different with a fat crayola marker for the pen, then digital airbrush for the "wash". It is a quick and loose way to still get the notion of detail, along with some color.

Edit:
One of my kids liked the high saturation version better, so added it as well.

Great job with the eagle. . I used to use Prismacolor markers and they made a colorless blender which was just alcohol with no pigment but was great for getting blended wash effects when used directly over the markers. Great color in this and excellent drawing.

My daughter has been using alcohol markers (various brands) quite a bit lately. I like the look, but don't want to mess with using the paper that is required to stand up to the blending. This way I can use cheap crayola markers, take a photo, and the rest is easily editable digital with much easier masking!

For that matter I like the watercolor look as well. I may break out the old equipment and do that at some point, but I would need to run out and get some more Arches paper.
