I had suspected all along that these charges were trumped up by the Clinton campaign.

"Mr. Sussmann has been charged with one count of lying to the FBI. He is accused of telling a top FBI lawyer that he was not representing a client when he turned over evidence allegedly linking Mr. Trump to Alfa Bank when he was really attending the meeting on behalf of the Clinton campaign, which he later billed for the meeting."

IG Horowitz asked whey the whole thing wasn't dropped instead of launched in early 2017 based on what they knew, and Rosenstein who signed off on the Special Counsel said he wouldn't have done so had he known then what he later did. The whole thing was a deep state coup attempt by Obama leftover dirty cops, using the machinery of government against political opponents. That should outrage anyone not a hardcore political partisan.
