Say that you've known a girl for a while and seemingly get along well with her for months in conversations and what-not. She seems to like you and seems to enjoy your company. So, why, in the whole world of all things rational and sane, would she ask for your number, say that she'll call you, but never actually do it?
I don't get it - apart from the "she never really liked you anyway" explanation that I've thought of. Even if that were true, it just seems a sadistic way of brushing someone off. You know, throw a theological, philosophical, or accounting question at me and the chances are I can answer it because they are rational and logical, but when it comes to relationships ... it just seems to defy all logic. I am just so confused.
I would appreciate it if anyone could offer some insight for me to make some sense of it.
Edit: I apologise if this is in the wrong forum.
