IMHO. Taking partial quotes and making them say something they obviously do not say can make someone loose foolish.

It is like the people who quote Trump “There’s good people on both sides” and never quote the next sentence where says plainly “I’m not talking about White Supremist”

Yet to this day quote the first but not the second.

First, I apologize for not being clear in my original post. I did not intend to make this a debate about COVID, as there are plenty of threads on it already. It was intended to gather other nominations for dumbest Senator.

I'm not sure if Marsha is second to Ron, but she is definitely in the top group. I haven't heard much about Tommy lately but his prior pronouncements make him a contender.

If anyone else has a worthy recipient for this dubious honor, please submit your nomination.

I don't think Johnson ever "worked for" President Obama. Johnson opposed the Affordable Care Act, Climate initiatives and other Obama programs.

Senators don't "work for" Presidents. They should work for their constituents and for all Americans. One problem we face today is Senators and Congresspeople who aren't representing the people, but instead take their orders from one person.

I was of the opinion for several years that Ron Johnson of Wisconsin was the dumbest U.S. Senator. Then Tommy Tuberville appeared on the scene and threatened to take over Senator Ron's spot in the rankings. But Senator Ron has fought back valiantly, doing his best to retain his position at the top of the Stupid Senator list. The most recent example is his claim that antiseptic mouthwash will stop the COVID virus. Scientists, doctors and even the manufacturers of mouthwash say NO. It may reduce the viral load in your mouth, but are you going to gargle every time you speak? And what about the viruses in your nose, your lungs, your blood stream, etc.? Mouthwash will not cure COVID, prevent one from getting it, nor prevent one from spreading it.

He added to the insanity by claiming that NIH scientists are telling us to "do nothing". In his mind, getting vaccinated, wearing a mask, utilizing social distancing, and getting tested are "doing nothing"?

Ron Johnson, no need to worry; you aren't close to losing your tin crown of Dumbest U.S. Senator.

At least he didn't say one should drink or inject mouthwash, like another guy was suggesting back in 2020.

This Johnson apparently did not pass physics, has no concept of geology or earth science, and is clueless about the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. Maybe he and Senator Ron J were separated at birth?

I too apologize regarding the post which confused Senator Ron with Dr. Ronnie Johnson. I had forgotten about him. And now we have Senator Hank. Perhaps there's a pattern here of dumb people in government with the last name Johnson. All following in the tradition of Andrew Johnson, who was also a Senator, before and after the Civil War.
