Here in the Seattle area I think anything other than Seahawks blue and green lighting is considered sacrilege.

The Bengals beat the Seahawks too, so there!

Come to think of it, those bats remind me of Castlevania. Castlevania was lit - sometimes I still enjoy Super Castlevania IV for its really cool soundtrack.

I'm not native to Ohio either, but I've really adopted my new home state. While this may sound weird, Ohio feels like home to me in a way California never did, even though nearly all of my family is still in CA.

Also, at the time I moved here, the Bengals finished their last season at 2-14 - they had the first pick in the draft that year. Two years later, they're in the Super Bowl.

Edit: so these days whenever football is on, I either root for the Bengals, or I root for whoever is not the Steelers, the Ravens, or the Browns.

Thanks, I was given instructions as to how to remove "holiday styling" from my preferences. You can ask the admin, or I'll tell you if you need to know? Basically, you can find Preferences by clicking on your name on the top bar and selecting a "gear" icon. There is a bunch of boxes, one of which will fix this.

The bats are kinda cute though (I think we should be thankful they weren't photo-realistic spiders).

The witches' hat totally hid my face unfortunately and made it look like a UFO / AAP.

Yea, I'm strongly opposed to transgenderism--I don't want a witch's hat on my head! Believe it or not, a Christian forum I used to be on came to be under the leadership of someone undergoing treatment for his dysphoria. Call me "paranoid!"

The good news is that once the box is checked, all of the year's various "holiday stylings" will continue to be disabled (unless you uncheck the box again). Some of them are cute or funny, but the Halloween "styling" is annoying (the bats), and it just gets worse from there

Yea, I get annoyed at all of the unwanted clutter that sometimes get "volunteered" for me. I like to keep things simple and basic, so as not to get distracted by the oyster and lose the pearl. Pop ups and various adornments drive me crazy, but I don't want to sound like an "angry man."

You never know what you're going to get. I've done a few different moderated Christian forums. You can just do a search for them--they are readily available under chat or forum with words like "Bible" or "Christian."

But as you obviously know, "Christian" is one of the most abused words in the Dictionary. You try it, and get a feel for it. It's a bit uncomfortable when you 1st get on, but shouldn't give up too fast. The moderators don't know you or trust you until you have a decent history.

I was on an unmoderated Usenet site for 10 years, and despite the typical occasional "pagan" disruptions, it was fairly responsible. But eventually, it went to the dogs. And so I do only "moderated Christian sites" now, and I'm relatively happy with them.

I'm not liberal in theological terms, but I prefer a somewhat "relaxed, tolerant" atmosphere in a Christian forum. There is a cutting off point, but sometimes emotional expressions need to be allowed for a time until there is more "heat than light." Too much micro-managing and the thing gets bogged down under too many mods' "instructions."

I have no real complaints here, and am not "angry" over Holiday adornments--Halloween, however, needs to go away. I don't invite "criminals" over for dinner, and I don't invite demons to my church.

I personally do not mind the hats. The bats are driving me a little crazy flying around the screen, but I figure for one day I can deal with it.

Click on your username and/or avatar on the top right side of this page or the CF homepage > Click on the icon with the little gear (to the right of the envelope icon >Click on Preferences > Under Current Options, check the box that says "Disable Holiday Styling" > Click "Save" at the bottom > Wait for a second or two and then, voilà, no more bats ​
