I my self am using Cable, but I have worked with DSL in the workplace. I think one is just as good as the other and it just depends on the price and your location. I had worked in a call center where I assisted customers with instalation of there DSL over the phone. Try telling some one how to install ther NIC over the phone:confused:.

So have have to say I am happy with my cable, it is easier to install than DSL.

I would say that anything (mostly) is better than dial-up.

CABLE doesn’t have the distance limitations and usually is faster (and the shared bandwidth problem was fixed by DOCSIS 2.0) I would ask the CABLE ISP if they are on DOCSIS 2.0.

DSL (if you are at a good distance) can be quite cheaper than CABLE (and DSL is also shared just by different means)

I've had both DSL and Cable. Granted, I think the DSL company we were with was really bad (they went out of bussiness a couple months after we signed up), but my cable line is (literally) 20x faster at downloading than the DSL was. I have a friend who has DSL, and from what I've seen from his, cable is faster, but DSL is cheaper.

I hate this thread, I can't get any of them :p not even satellite, I have too many trees in the way. so basically, I'm stuck with dial up until I move out. stinks, huh? especially because I probably WOULD be downloading ISOs and such if I had any choice in the matter

DThe biggest difference is that cable is shared bandwidth with your neighbors, while DSL is dedicated.
That's really no longer an issue. And as someone else said, it just means you're sharing at a different level. Cable internet has a much better infrastructure now, so they can raise the download cap to 4Mb and up easily.
