  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The 1610 edition Catholic Douay-Rheims Version is the inspired translation of the Scriptures! It was translated from the inspired Vulgate! The KJV-writing anti-Catholics just wanted to write their own translation so they could get away from the True Church!

Anyone who says it is hard to read just needs to keep practicing, look, it's not so hard:

"Vvhat fhal vve fay then? Is there iniquitie vvith God? For to Moyfes he faith, I vvil haue mercie on vvhom I haue mercie: and I vvil hevv mercie to vvhom I vvil hevv mercie." - Romans 9:14-15, original Douay-Rheims

Up next: NIV onlyism

Edit: yes, this is a joke thread

Hey Freedbyte, your avatar looks familiar and funny! The identical thing happened to me when I was about 5 years old and driving a peddle car down a hill and had my legs up and off of the peddles, and they were going too fast for me to put my feet on them to stop.

The car ended up crashing into a huge and green ice plant I think it was, and it was wet and stained all of my clothing badly and I wasn't hurt much but banged up a little. I was scolded for ruining my clothes, and they were nice too. We were visiting family members at their house and my mom dressed me well that day, eeek!

BTW, perhaps, the VV is representing two 'V'oices?

I'm glad you like my avatar! :)

It originated as a youtube video I think. I imagine its creation was more intentional than what happened to you, though :)

I don't think so, the name double-u comes from the use of uu which was written as vv, I believe
