I am sorry on behalf of all of the biblically ignorant people that may have said that you are not saved. I don't doubt that such ignorance certainly exists. However, I would caution you against assuming that because someone tells you that a homosexual lifestyle is sinful that that means that homosexuals cannot be saved. To believe that would mean that no one is saved except Christ, because we are all sinners. I have never seen a Scripture that indicates that homosexuality is any more sinful than, e.g., heterosexual lust, disrespectful language, malice, etc.: things which most of us are guilty of. I would also caution against accepting the belief that, because you are saved, and because you are a practicing homosexual (hypothetically speaking; it is none of my business whether you are in fact), that your homosexual behavior is not a problem. As Christians we are always called to grow spiritually and morally, which requires humbly accepting biblical teaching about our behavior.

I am not a practicing homosexual, although, I will be, because I am certain in my assertions it is not a sin. It is a valid orientation, and it isn't even an "alternate lifestyle", it's the SAME lifestyle for gay people. I have done thousands and thousands of hours of research on this, and joined a loving and spirit-filled Church that agrees with my beliefs, which as been a God-sent.

I am not a practicing homosexual, although, I will be, because I am certain in my assertions it is not a sin. It is a valid orientation, and it isn't even an "alternate lifestyle", it's the SAME lifestyle for gay people. I have done thousands and thousands of hours of research on this, and joined a loving and spirit-filled Church that agrees with my beliefs, which as been a God-sent.

It's interesting to me that your response is specifically limited to the one part that I said was really none of my business. But, as such, I would encourage you to spend as much time in prayer on this issue as you have spent in research and that you are careful not to make any decisions as an emotional reaction to "Christian" intolerance. Although I have my opinions about the wisdom of your decision, I am in no position to tell you what to do, and even if I were you would have no reason to listen to me. Instead, just make sure you are seeking God's direction on this issue (not your own, not mine, not other people's, not your church's).

And, please don't think I am just picking on this as a "gay issue." If you told me that you were planning on having sex with your girlfriend because your church told you it was okay, I would say substantially the same thing.

It's OK, I don't hold anything back here, and I am not ashamed of the way God created me.

I've done lots and lots of prayer, and with Pastors as well as thousands and thousands of hours of research, my studies are done, but thank you.

At least you are non-judgmental, which is the main thing that Christians should be. Rep points for you.

David, I've done some studing on the topic of homosexuality in the Bible and I feel your dealing honestly with the Bible and its historical context.
