I just want to know if you guys think that Drowning Pool is against God? I have their CD Sinner and it seems to me that they curse God. Any comments?

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

All I know is that their lead singer died a few years back while on tour (I think). Heart attack, or something.

I remember when he died, I was in the middle of a 5 hour road trip and the DJ was making some smart-alack comment about the lead singer drowning in a pool of his own vomit.
I never had the CD but I remember when they--as a band--were releasing mp3s off the Sinner CD on Audiogalaxy. They released two, I think--I know one of them was "Let the Bodies Hit the Floor". Awesome song. I hated to hear about the guy's death, whatever the cause.

I'm a big death metal fan, and a Christian at the same time, and that isn't easy. Most of the lyrics are offensive, yet I focus solely on the music (and you can't really understand the vocals anyway). The best advice I can give you is the above sentence. If you really feel that you shouldn't be listening to it, then don't.
I heard that the singer actually died of a popped blood vessel in his brain from over-screaming at the concert.
