Driving Anxiety

Hey brothers and sisters! I am having a hard time practice driving outside of parking lots. Would you mind praying that God helps me to drive on the road? I want to be decent enough by the time I get in driving with an instructor as they will also want me to drive on the highway. I am so nervous. Thanks!

Feeling comfortable behind the wheel of a car should gradually come with practice.
When I was first driving on roads and highways at speeds I found that at first I was not looking far enough ahead of the car. I was looking like right in front of the car or a few feet ahead. When I started to look farter out my driving improved on roads. Of course parking and things like that are different.
That was me though I am not sure if others make that same mistake.

I pray that God guides you to this comfortable feeling as you practice and build your skills. As the others have said, I pray that you soon become a confident skilled driver and that you are able to drive at car with both alertness and attention but also being at peace.

Maybe some early weekend mornings in some neighborhoods where there is enough light to see but people aren't out & about yet?

Whatever - I pray you will be given courage and confidence and focus in driving and that you turn into a super driver who is protected by holy angels on the road.

I have a driving phobia as well. This is why I am trying to apply for special transportation to help me get to and from work. Yes i have driven before but NOT GOOD at all. One time it was an emergancy back when I was 22. My friend was pumping gas into her car and the gas pump would not cut off and gas was going everywhere. She ran inside to tell the clerk and the first thing that came to my mind was that the gas may leak all over the car and it will blow up or something dreadful so I quickly got behind the wheel and drove her car to safty, that was the only time I have ever driven comfortably other than that driving has not been a good thing for me. I fear it big time. AND I am 38. Praying!
