Actually - I have heard that the formula is half of your weight in pounds in ounces.

So.... if you weigh 150 pounds - you would need to drink 75 ounces/day.

The running to the bathroom will only be for the first week or so - then your body should adjust.

And for you metric people..... 8 oz equals 240 mls

Most people are running around dehydrated. Once your body gets used to the right amt you will be surprised at how much better you feel overall.

well for the first time ever i got a race entry pack (running.. marathon) that says dont drink too much... usually they say drink drink drink.. but for once they've woken up to the problems of drinking too much...

their advice is 400-800ml and hour, the larger quantity being for faster runners.

To me, enough water is when I pee the urine is nearly clear. This can change throughout the day, so you need to continually drink. When it's hotter, or if you have more physical exercise, you'll need more. That's how I gauge how much water I need...the color of the urine.

How much water is enough

you want to drink 1/2 your body weight in ounces, this is document in you bodies many cries for water.

if you consume any sugar drinks, pop, coffee, you have to drink double the amount of the sugar beverage you consume to replenish the water that has been taken away. This is because those drinks take body away from the body.

It is also helpful to add some Celtic sea salt to your water this will help the body absorb it better, so your not always running to the restroom.
