Yes, if you are normal weight for you height and age 8-8 is great. But if you are over-weight you should drink 1 more 8oz per each 25extra pounds. This must be pure water, not the flavored stuff, that can be worst for you. If you are retaining water drink more, that way your body will stop hoarding it.


Some break it down to a quart in the morning ( drink it all within 30 minutes) a quart in the afternoon and again a quart in the evening ( but not too close to bedtime ;) )

I have heard the same. Studies also suggest that most people are running "a quart low" when it comes to water. And, I agree that 8 glasses daily (or more in summer) is best.

I subscribe to the ounce for every pound theory for exercisers...but honestly I rarely conume 200 ounces of h20 a day..

I did the calculation with the given website. I hope I did the right calculations, how much is 56 Kg in pounds? 80 minutes of excercise at ballet. Well it said 7 cups. I'm still confused. How much is that in litres? I drink 1 liter after ballet class, half a litre at lunch a cup in the morning, and a cup at night. How much does that come out to? 8 cups?

Oh, and (as usual) they found out that drinking too much water is also bad for you. (Go figure how much too much is.)

I'm supposed to drink 9 12oz. cups of water? Goodness. I could never drink that much water. I already drink about 80oz. of water a day, and I just can't figure out how I'd drink another 26oz. without spending the whole day in the bathroom. As it is, I already have to be so very careful, or else I end up waking up in the middle of the night anywhere from 1-3 times. Oy.

I'm in a job where i can't go to the bathroom when I need to. So BE NICE TO TEACHERS cause we have to hold it in!!!!! So I don't really drink much during the day, but i do at night when i get home. Does anyone know if they sell containers that are the right amount y ou are supposed to drink each day? My problem is that I have water bottles but i'm never sure how much they hold and I never know how much I have drinken so far.

Depends on what you want to do.

Replenish lost fluids? 64 OZ a day - average adult.

Overweight? More water.

Underweight? Less water.

Now if you want to cure problems like acne, fatigue, tiredness - drink half your body weight in ounces. So an 180lb person would have to drink 90oz a water a day.
