• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I hope I am posting in the right section.

Demons, serpents, and evil spirits appear in my dreams from time to time. Does this mean they have access to my dreams?

I can control what happens in my real life to a certain extent, but I can't control my dreams.

I would pray for protection and peace in your dreams (as I’m sure you probably are).

Also pray that God gives you strength and security to be able to fight back with the armor of God equipped and the weapons of the spirit and the shield of faith, with Warrior angels on your side and Jesus before you always.

Normal dreams are product of your own mind, your thoughts and experiences from your daily life.

If your dreams are natural, then you can influence them by what you think about during the day, what videos you watch, which preachers you listen to etc. Peace of mind and healthy life style will produce also a good sleep. If you experience fears during the day, it will be reflected in your dreams too.

If your dreams are not natural and are influenced by real demons or other spiritual beings, then cleaning your life from sins, prayer and possibly fasting is the way to go.

ChicanaRose dreams do come to us in a variety of ways . Some happy and peaceful others not so nice. As a Christian I doubt very much that demons can have access to your mind while you sleep. ( For He that is in you is greater than he that be of the world ) I tend to take the bad dreams especially the ones with the snakes as a warning from God to be careful. Could mean you have enemies that be not far away . I tend to be very vigilant for a good time when such dreams do occur.

Depends on the context. If it's you Conquering or subduing the snakes, serpents etc-that is good and signals victory. If they just appear, you may need to audit your spiritual walk. Do some self-reflection with the leading of the spirit. I used to have these dreams when I neglected private prayer and personal bible study for things like TV,internet, games etc. other times it would be persistent sin that i hadn't repented of. The devil is the accuser of brethren, give him no reason.

When I dream it's almost always about what I was doing close to bedtime. An intense movie, video game, or what have you, however I agree with the poster who said it can be things we think about, anything we have on our minds. For me it has to be fresh on my mind, but I can easily see something we strongly think about that day or even days before the dream causing the the dream.

Are you thinking about demons and so forth a lot or before bed? Of course if you are dreaming of demons, you may be worried about dreaming of demons, something that would make you think about demons, before you go to bed...a vicious cycle.

When I was a kid, I taught myself to wake up when I had nightmares that were even close to bothersome. FWIW, it was actually crazy easy to do, when I was awake I simply told myself to keep blinking when I wanted to wake up, and that was a game changer with the nightmares...worked like a charm...for me.
