I had watched a piece of a youtube video of her the day I had that dream (I hadn't had much to do with her stuff for 20 years for good reason)

Aha... there it is right there, then. I sensed it might be primarily an education in what happened to her rather than something related to you. Although in a way it actually was related to you apparently, given what you said about setting aside her teachings.

So you used to be into watching and/or reading her material then?

my question wasnt about the meaning of the dream really but about when these kinds of dreams happen what do you do when you cant move or speak to say Jesus Name to make it all go away.

Yeah, my apologies. I'm an interpreter. When it comes to this type of phenomena, that's more of Francis Drake's department. If I were to respond, my answer is that you always have to stand your ground and refuse to let your will be overpowered during such dreams. It is a form of attack that has to be withstood, though I would hold out the possibility that the attack was merely symbolized as a teaching lesson rather than being an actual attack. This is the main point of contention between FD and I. He holds that if the dream is an attack then the entire thing came from demons and should be rejected. I hold that the dream is likely from God, and was only a teaching lesson on the potential dangers involved in getting back into her teachings, by receiving the same influences that may have corrupted her, though I admit the former is possible.

Makes me all the more want to watch some of the videos to see what she preached and how. Maybe I can do so today, although if the Lord should have you come across any teachings of hers that promoted materialism, please post it.

And thanks for your openness in posting this thread, btw. It could prove useful to others down the road. In my opinion, the more greatly we are used of God the more the tempter does everything in his power to stop us, and with some he can unfortunately succeed.

The dream was from God.
If you knew my background it was confirmation that Kathryn Kuhlman had issues.
I personally think the church needs more discernment.

my question in my first post was not so much what does the dream mean but what to do when you cant move and cant say Jesus Name to make it all leave and stop?

Interestingly, I don't know when it started, but in recent years I have discovered that when I am in bad dreams, my spirit still seems to be sufficiently alert to know its just a dream and make the decision to walk out of the dream and wake up.
Its rather like watching a film, decide its a waste of time, so switch it off.

Interesting. Kuhlman was part of the great 50s healing revival that ended badly. Many who were originally used mightily of the Lord became tempted, fell into various sins, and died premature deaths as a result.

I cannot attest to the source of your dream, but if from God it would suggest the spirits she was eventually operating under by the end of her ministry were no longer from God. I've never studied her personally enough to relate the content to anything specific she preached, but the dream suggests the enemy may have turned her messages to corruption.

I suppose the way to pursue it would be to listen to some of the final messages she preached, i.e. for clues as to what spirits were being promoted, and what they would therefore be after you about (again, if this dream is from the Lord).

If I have some time, maybe I'll listen to a few and do some research.

I went quite deeply into Kathryn Khulman's ministry to find out whether the testimonies in her books were true. I discovered that before each meeting, she would just cry out to God in prayer that the Holy Spirit would be present in the meeting. She did not preach healing, but the basic gospel of Christ, and the healings that happened were sovereign acts of God which were never solicited from her. She never prayed or laid hands on anyone for healing, and people came up on the stage to give their testimony of healing, and often they buckled at the knees under the power of the Holy Spirit with just a soft momentary touch on the shoulder when she gave her blessing and thanks for the healing. One woman who was healed of a chronic condition thanked her for the healing, and Kathryn said, "Don't thank me. I had nothing to do with it." Later in life she suffered heart failure through over work and stress and when another healing evangelist offered to pray for her, she refused because she felt that she had run her course and wanted just to go home to be with the Lord.

So, for that reason, I would have definite doubts as to whether the dream actually was of the Holy Spirit.
