In the arguments about morality, I never accept "god/jesus/bible don't like it" as a valid reason for something to be prohibited. I require a reason for them to be against it.
In the moral codes I have in common with christians (prohibition of murder, assault, rape, theft), the reason is obvious. One person is causing harm to another. Every time. By defintion.
Christianity has a lot of additional prohibitions that I do not think are reasonable, the bulk of which are related to sex. Some of these behaviors have the potential for harm in certain circumstances, but it can usually be avoided. Yet the behavior is prohibited across the board without regard to circumstance.
One of these prohibited behaviors is watching porn.
One of the claims made against it is that it ruins the lives of the performers, so we will skip that entire issue.
In my OP I am talking about drawn porn, i.e. porn that does not involve actual human beings. In other words, the characters in the porn are drawn by an artist or are computer generated.
What actual harm is caused by drawn porn?
And please do not drag out the tired old gag "it turns people into rapists". I have been looking at porn since the mid-1970s and have not raped anyone yet.
