Blessed-one
a long journey ahead
Since leaving Algama, Kierus had rejoined the goblin group he was trailing for weeks ago, but Gafus's army had swelled in size, providing some unexpected entertainment for the Watcher.
----
"This city, although small, is well fortified. We will hit it at night from here, here and here."
The goblin chief's lips twisted into a sneer of contempt. Shaking his finger at the speaker's face, he voiced his own strategy. "No, you will do no such thing. My goblins can handle it, just charge in and throw them what i've got. You stay out of this."
The speaker regarded him with a pair of unreadable eyes, then he said in an even tone, "If there was a need for your army to be sacrified, i wouldn't have been assigned to join forces with you." His eyes were dark pools of unknown depth. "You can do what you like, but only at the same time as my army strikes."
Kierus was amused to no end by this exchange. The conversation further degenerated into a one sided bickering. At Gafus's onslaught, the dark elf held onto his composure with a certain dignity. He never once raised his voice and he waited with inhuman patience for Gafus to finish his raving. Kierus noted mentally to keep a close watch on this elf. His reaction, or rather, inaction in the face of insults was admirable. Which marks him as a dangerous general.
Notebook entry:
It isn't surprising on the outcome of this one little, yet dramatic exchange. Eltary, the dark elf leader, whose read name is Eltarylis Kalisserus, had the battle on the city of Caherin done exactly his way. No matter how much Gafus threw at him, in the end the goblin chief was manipulated and pushed into Eltary's own plan. Caherin didn't stand a ghost of a chance against him.
