  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have a really strange question. Why are the Messianics opposed to Dr. Laura leaving Judaism and accepting Christianity, if she ever did or would?
The point is that Laura doesn't need to be "a Christian" she needs Y'shua, and faith in Y'shua doesn't mean, never has meant and never needs to mean "leaving Judaism" or "converting" to Christianity. We're all living proof of that. And personally, I think it would be a shame for her to do so; after the long and circuituous journey she had to take to reclaim the familial Jewishness denied to her in her youth and going through a kosher (Orthodox) conversion under a very learned rabbi with a well-honored smicha, to turn her back on all of that to instead join a paganism-tainted church which would probably teach replacement theology and deny the relevance and necessity of Torah would be absolutely heartbreaking.

replacement theology is an abberant teaching within the church. Most churches would reject that.

Yes, I would prefer that she become a full-blown messianic believer...but I don't think that was the understanding of the questioner. He/she doesn't know there is a difference.

As far as the paganism tainted church....the same can be said (to a lesser degree) about rabbinical judaism.

Dr Laura needs Yeshua. She won't find it with a rabbi in Orthodox judaism

Let us all pray for each other, pray for each step each of us take in our walk in this life, pray that it draws each and everyone of us closer to the One who created us and we can redeem us. It is not for us to judge the walk of another, but it is very important for us to pray, lift up the One who can save. We all can look back on our life and see where we have strayed. Are they any better, or worse places to stray to, yes? But the bottom line is that in straying, the Lord is always working to lead us back into the fold. We are each doing the part that we know and what is before us, and we are to count the blessing that are bestowed, and for those less fortunate in mind and soul pass these blessing on.

Dr. Laura obviously is a blessing to those that have listened to her show, and have been helped. Is it for everyone? NO. Is it suppose to be? NO Does her spiritual walk affect her thinking? Of course, who's doesn't.

Talking on forums about people and what they say and do, even those in the media, is something that just doesn't uplift the Lord in my mind. It does not matter if it is good or bad, it is the message and what affect upon the life of another that is the important part. We are to learn from it and if we are in a position to improve upon it, then we have a say in the matter.

May you all be blessed and loved with the presence of our Lord and Saviour, Yeshua, in your life.
