  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I take offence at that. There is a difference between Creationist Christians and Non-Creationist Christians.

Do not tar us all with the same brush.

Oh wow, the propaganda from Christians is unbelievable. God bless atheists.
Millitant atheists are more annoying then millitant Creationists for some odd preculiar reason.

Look, the majority if Christians don't Believe in mr. Hovind's lies, and to hubble them all up in the " oh-those-silly-ignorant-christians "-group is quite stupid. You don't believe there's a God? That's your choice, and we all have to respect that, while vica versa you have to respect that there are people who do believe in a God.

And you also have to accept that not all (infact only a small minority) believes in Creationism. mr Hovind is one of those minorities that will promote a few lies here and there to make himself more monney. If you really find it unbelievable what he says then attack him on his points. Show us for instance that he wrong by showing us statistics from more reliable sources that say that it's untrue what mr Hovind tells us.

Or better yet: Don't give him the thing he's craving for: attention. Because he just wants to be heard, and you are providing to be an excelent source for this attentionwhorism.

Over the last few years it has become increasingly evident that the secular world is growing more and more nervous with the rise of Creation Science and its every-growing list of scientific proponents.

I think there is some truth here. It has become evident what would happen if fundamentalist christians took over america.I think it would be a disaster and i am a conservitave myself.

Yes, I wholeheartedly agree. Lies, disinformation and mindless rhetoric really are worthy of our prayers and hard-earned cash.

Mr. Hovind is a joke to science and religion. Many souls are turned away from Christianity by precisely the idiocy spouted by that fraud.

The only time he'd get financial support from me is if he was thrown in a mental institution.

In the past you were given several examples of lies told by Hovind; you ignored them. You have been made aware of his misinformation, which in some cases is obviously deliberate (he has admitted that the potential ends justify the means as well), yet you still praise him. You fail to evaluate his work honestly and act like his errors don't exist (you vacated threads upon receiving the falsifications you asked for), yet you still praise him. That is very telling about the creationist mindset: it's not an intellectually honest one.

I read the Skeptical Inquirer article and wasn't that impressed. It's more of an overview of his park and they don't really go into dissecting any of his claims.

However, they do include references at the end of the article which include both talkorigins and the Analysis of Kent Hovind web site. After all, it's not like Hovind's claims haven't been smacked down already.

Tp the OP, Hovind does not represent the majority of Christianity; I'd estimate 80-95% of Christianity, including many "evangelical" ones, would consider him extremely bad taste due to his blatant lies.

Secondly, militants of any belief; be it Atheism, Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Zoroastrianism, Wicca, or anything are horrid.

Lastly, psuedo-science will never win. When the world is educated enough to tell the difference between faith and science, then evolution will finally be given its true respect it deserves as the current best theory.
