- As some of you might be aware, Kent Hovind (aka Dr. Dino) links to this forum from his website in leiu of maintaining one himself.

- My question is: Does Mr. Hovind ever come by? Perhaps to defend some of his beliefs? To attack evolution?

- To me, it wasn't too surprising that KH decided to link to a Christian forum instead of a plain old science forum... that's what "creation science" is famous for: filtering science through the sieve of Christianity.

www.ChristianForums.com is a friendly, non-denominational forum. Please follow their guidelines when posting there.

Non-denominational? Okay...

He doesn't link to this particualar forum, though. And for good reasons I imainge. This is certainly not the place to come to if you wish to remain ingorant towards evolution.

And besides, many of the Christian posters here believe in evolution.

(and quite frankly, the ones who argue against evolution here do a very poor job. I think it would be much better for these individuals if they just simply argued by faith alone and stopped trying to prove their point through dishonesty)

What that means is "Christianforums does not restrict users to Catholics, Protestants, or any other denomination". Some sites are more restrictive.

There have been many times when I feel your cynicism has been unfounded.

This is not one of those times.

Sure! Send me your address, and I'll send you a special discounted line of videos about remaining optimistic; agree to buy the whole line, and they can be as low as $9.95 per tape (other tapes may cost as much as $99.95. Void were prohibited.)

Heh. I actually want a source for all the different little fishie emblems you can get for cars. I want a school of 'em. Including the Darwin ones with the feet.

- This is, of course, a site dedicated to a pretty biased set of viewpoints (not all of which I share). :)

Yeah. I was hoping to find a single store that had the whole set - including the Christian ones.

I think I will probably omit the "Satan" fish from my collection. ICK!

Never having met a self-respecting satanist, I can't comment.

It does seem to me that some of the "Darwin" fish people seem to be fairly defensive about their beliefs. My idea is to have a school of little fishes, because I think it'll offend nearly everyone, while making an important point.

Depends on which type of satanist, wouldn't it?

The angry-child, upside down cross, worship the bad-guy spoiled brat,

or

The out and out pagan of a completely separate tradition.

The first would use a devil-fish just BECAUSE it would tick off the mundanes. The second might use it because of its potential as a visual pun.

I read up a little bit about the Church of Satan, and was surprised to find that it wasn't really a religion as much as it was a political organization designed to annoy the Catholics.

All the stuff you read about black masses and the like are evidently publicity stunts. They would no more sacrifice a virgin than a Christian would.

Talk about getting bad press! :)

One of my favorite "satanist" stunts was "Satanists For Life", who marched "in solidarity with" Operation Rescue at one point, waving signs like "Don't Abort The Antichrist" and "Every Baby Aborted Is Another Soul Lost To Satan". (By which they meant, he'd have no chance at 'em.) They delivered a message of unanimous support and endorsement for the bombing of medical clinics.

I suspect the people involved were all completely uninterested in any kind of "devil"; they were just doing a stunt. I think it was a fairly funny stunt, in a way.

BTW, although Christians have generally not believed in sacrificing virgins, it's generally held that one was sacrificed *for* us.
