Did God invite Satan to a debate and "kick the stuffing out of him"? According to the above "logic" the reason God didn't do so is because He couldn't beat him. Never invite chronic habitual liars to a debate--they make a mockery of the truth.

And yet the fundamentals clearly state that sinful man in corruptible bodies will 'vindicate God'. Sovereign God!

Actually Conklin it was the other way around Jesus came to Satan's stage and beat him, so what is the SDA Chruch afraid of? of they have the trught they should be able to win right. expose the liars for what they are and put them in there place.

If they really wanted to defend the SDA church and it's teachings, they would invite Dale Ratzlaff, Desmond Ford, Mark Martin, Derek Anderson, Ronald Numbers or others to a debate and kick the stuffing out of them. The fact that they won't do that is proof that thier postition cannot be defended.

Now this I would pay to see. Although, if you have that many critics of the church in one building together, you better have some seriously tight security. Ratzlaff alone has gotten more than a few death threats from fanatical SDA's, believe it or not. The letters in Proclamation only hint at the animosity with which he is regarded in Adventism. Dale would love the challenge I am sure and so would Ford. Ford has already gone head to head with Kevin Paulson and Bill Shea. Ford actually invited Clifford Goldstein and William Johnsson to have a debate on Adventist Today over the IJ, but it didn't happen.

It would be the event of the century. No one would be convinced differently of thier positions, but it would be one heck of a show!

Only if the winner of the debate wins the hearts of men.

However 1 Corinthians 2 tells me the deep things of God escape the hearts of men, save for those have the spirit of God.

For those who have the spirit of God, there is no need to win an argument. Because 'my sheep hear my voice and they follow me'.

I have done my share of debate. But I'd rather work with people who have humble hearts and are willing to learn for there are many.

The fact that this series is addressing such views apparently give him that stage indirectly.

Which is why it is highly unlikely that Doug's series will involve Razlaff (I can never remember how to spell his name) by name at all, perhaps some tangential way such as an aside but I would bet that it will not take on anything or Razlaff directly. I wish it would but it won't.

If you could get a debate or round table it would sell hugely in the SDA western world.But you can't seem to get the SDA establishment people to do it. A couple of years ago we tried hard to get Cliff Goldstein to debate us online at Atomorrow.com over just the question of a day for a year. But he would not, he made a few reference to Shea and that was it.

They will write books but as we all know books lead the reader through a thought process the writer desires. So they don't really provide the type of counter argument of a debate.

Doc, I would be VERY interested in that. I could listen to it out in my car between my classes.

My church is having the seminar at our church tonight (my pastor called here last night) but my youngest has bronchitis.

I wanted to go to church tomorrow, but I'm afraid it will just be a continuation of tonight's topic and I'll be lost.

I'm not sure what to do. My little guy is pretty sick though and when he is, he only wants his momma.

Doc did you see my reply that I'd be interested in audio cassettes?

Let me check with my church first because they might be making tapes too.

Also, did you see where I said my sound card is fried? It wasn't my speakers at all!

Also (haha) did you see where I said I think a tree limb has grown in the way of my signal for 3ABN? Short of me getting a chainsaw and climbing up the HUGE trees around here, I'm going to have to relocate the tree stump that has our satellite on it.

Maybe I can talk my dad into getting his tractor out there to do it for me.

Hi Laine,

Yes, I saw your post. I won't be making any additional copies until after the series is over. Don't worry I never supprise anyone with unexpected packages. The reason that I personaly like to put any sermon or bible study on cassette is that no matter where I am I can always listen to it. It is also very easy to stop a tape to write notes with minimal effort.

Hi once again Lainie,

You mentined your dish that you use for recieving 3ABN. As I'm sure you, and almost everyone else that watches 3ABN, konw that 3ABN lost Sky Angel as a satelite carrier. However, what most don't know, is that by tuning you satelite dish to the same spot on the same satelite you can still get 3ABN. That is because the new carrier for 3ABN is using the exact same location for current broadcast.

Are you using GMT? My atomic clock says the GMT is 20:23. And New York time is 16:23. So GMT is 4 hours ahead.

While you're here, your Sanctuary Study has thrown up yet another "a-ha!" moment for me! I've never realised that the lampstand was a figure for the burning bush! Wow! And the heavenly oil flowing down the olive tree into our bowl....brilliant stuff.


I should make a lot of progress through it before midnight.

Are you sure you're atomic clock is correct? I am on GMT, definately 22:04 here now, or roundabouts. I'll try and look up the time differences on the net.
