I really need your prayer right now-- I am having doubts in my faith. Some bad things are happening to me and I don't remember where Jesus and God fit into it all. Please help me- I am hanging desparately to my faith, but I feel it slipping away. I'm scared. Kenzie

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I just recently had my.."doubts" I was in that phase for a while...basically I ended up reading a lot of books about Jesus and talking to a lot of people...taking an agnostic's point of view and having them...."reconvince" me of the Bible's validity and of Jesus. I recommend a book by Lee Stroble: the Case for Christ, he also has a book called The Case for Faith. There are "student editions" also for teen readers, but those are kinda hard to find.
You'll be in my prayers, and when you come out of your tunnel of doubt, your relationship w/ Christ just may be stronger.

there's a really good book call Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis... he was atheist, and some one told him to prove that God did not exist, and in trying to do that, he proved God did exist... That book helped put my doubts to rest... and here's some song lyrics from a song by Caedmon's Call

blue eyes, I will be praying for your situation, God knows what it is you need, and I have faith he will give it to you. Sometimes when bad things happen to us, It's a time that we realy need to draw closer to God, and trust in him with all our heart and soul. No matter how hard things get for us, we must remember that he is there to hold us up, and help us through it all.
