  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hello,

I thought I would take a moment and share an honest moment with you. I doubt. I find it hard to believe there are people who don't. Even atheists, I believe there are times they doubt their atheism.

What do I doubt? That I have found the one true Way. No, I don't doubt in a God, or that Jesus died on the Cross. Only very seldom do I doubt that. But more often, it is my own sin in that I doubt. Lots of religions out there, almost everyone thinks they have the only Way. Why are we right and everyone else is wrong? If there truly is only one Way, then statistically speaking most of us are wrong. How do I KNOW I have gotten on God's good side? How do I KNOW my sins have been washed, that I am redeemed, that I am going to Heaven? Something as huge as eternity, that is something you had better be absolutely SURE about. You wouldn't board an airplane that had a 1% chance of crashing. Yet with death, we don't have a choice. Like it or not, that is one plane you are going to board.

I saw a nice, reassuring message at church this morning. It was a (fiction) story of a dad, a human dad, who had to choose between his son's life, or the lives of a train full of people. He chose the people on the train to live. Fast-forward a few years, this grieving dad got to see some of the passengers, living their lives, still alive. What I realized was this: if I was in that dad's shoes, those people's lives would have meant everything to me--as much as my own son's life. Because if they were not alive and well, then my son died in vain. Now I have lost both my son--by my own doing--AND the very reason why I lost him in the first place.

If you have accepted the Father's gift of salvation in Jesus Christ His Son, you ARE GOING to Heaven. There is no way He is going to allow anything BUT that to happen. If you do not live eternally, then the sacrifice God made, of His own Son, was made in vain. He is King of the universe. Nothing is beyond His control. It is just as important to Him that you make it there as it is Jesus himself is there.

It's done. Go, and do what you can so that Jesus did not die in vain for anyone else. God bless.
