  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Sure, I doubted God for many years, but come to find it was like not being able to see the forest because their were so many trees. We are surrounded by one miracle of life after another, literally standing in the middle of a wonderful creation and design, yet we are prone to deny the existence of that Creator. Why? The Bible tells us that we fell into sin, death, and spiritual blindness as a race of beings when our greatest physical father, Adam, the physical father of all mankind, fell into sin and death. Since that day, we are all born dead sprirtually and have little or no sense of the spiritual realm. It is only after we are "born again" spiritually, that we begin to become aware of spiritual things. We experience the physical birth, but the spiritual birth is the one that leads to true and erternal life, where our true Father is God.
Yes, I doubted, but the longer I walk with God, the less I ever doubt Him of anything.

Yes, I think we all do at times. What I do is check out a book from the library on Christian apologetics, especially evidence for Christ, which reminds me that my faith is not without solid evidence. :)

God has made differences in my life (and others') that people who are not open-minded will dismiss. I remember those things and the fact that whatever my doubts are are not enough to nullify those happenings, so I put God over those doubts and before you know it, I'm stronger than I was and God is more evident.

I also pray and tell God to shine his light and put away this darkness that is clouding him from me and he is more than willing to give me reason to continue.

Follower1, You can remove doubt by getting to know God more, the more you will know God, the less you will doubt Him. And the more you will have faith in God, faith comes by hearing God’s words, i.e listening to Him talking to you through reading the bible, listening to teachings, and by you talking to Him and Him to you...

Sometimes I have a fleeting doubt, but it is always conquered by the truth of God's word. I suppose it is normal, human, to sometimes doubt most everything to some extent.

The key is how we deal with that doubt. Reading God's word, praying, etc always helps me.

Sometimes in the car I just listen to my Smoky Mountain Gospel music on the car stereo, humming (or singing) along and I feel the greatest sense of well-being and confidence.

I think this question depends on what specifically one is doubting. For instance, if one is doubting the veracity of the Bible text and what this means for the existence of God, then it would be helpful to research the issue. :)

Yes.

...and if so how did you get out of that doubt.
When I examined what evidence I could acquire from the five thousand or so years of recorded human history that can be found, I did not find the evidence for the current existence of any deity to be convincing.

So I haven't "gotten out of my doubt". Over the past ten to fifteen years, my position has actually moved from doubt to reasonable certainty that, based on the evidence I've been exposed to, deities do not currently exist.

Thank you:)
You're welcome.

All of mankind (including Christians) will doubt not only the existance of God at some point in his/her life but also whether our sins are forgiven because Jesus died on the cross to atone for our sins. It's because of our sinful nature that we doubt. It's God's work to bring us to faith, and sustain and grow us in faith.
