the thing is i'm not seeing that this is dogma hence my question. now here's a question. are we also saying that single parents can't adopt? how about atheist parents? are they unfit as well?
Ok so essentially you are saying that Homosexuality is not Doctrinally wrong according to the Church?

Because that is the only way that I can see you coming to the other conclusion is to approve of it.....

Our Doctrines explicitly state that a Christian and Sacramental marriage only belongs between a man and a woman .... We have Doctrines about how we teach our Children and what we teach them, we have Doctrines about Birth Control and it's usage because of the mandate in the Bible Be fruitful and multiply ....

Scripturally I have proven where God finds this type of behaviour abhorant to Him .... therefore why would we allow a child to be in such a situation that God Himself does not even recognize or see fit ... in fact sees as is descibed here

Rom 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

G96
ἀδόκιμος
adokimos
ad-ok'-ee-mos
From G1 (as a negative particle) and G1384; unapproved, that is, rejected; by implication worthless (literally or morally): - castaway, rejected, reprobate.

Now tell me what validation do you have to give a child one of God's children over to evil and unrighteousness

Rom 1:29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
Rom 1:30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
Rom 1:31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
Rom 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

I haven't read all the pages either yet... Hi Kimber1

To answer your question, We cannot disagree with the above statement of the Vatican that ps139 posted earlier.

okay but isn't it dogma that cannot be strayed from? isn't the ex cathedra statements what cvan't be strayed from? are you saying we can't have our own opinion? i'm sorry but i know gay couplesd as well as atheist couples who would make superb parents and i doubt very seriously they would be committing any harm to the child, they'd be so gosh darn happy to be able to adopt.
What I'm saying is dogmas aren’t the only thing that requires your obedience and assent.

Yes, you can have your opinion but what you can't do is pass that opinion off as if it's truth or to tell others that the Church is wrong.

You have to give the Church your assent. No, you do not have to personally agree but you have to understand that it’s your opinion and that the Church knows better and you do have to obey.

I do know good gay parents, but I know that their lifestyle is wrong, that doesn’t take away from their parenting ability but for me to condone this whole lifestyle the kids are in would be condoning sin and I can’t do that.

yea actually you did imply that. saying you'd been online all day defending the church while i've only been on and off. say it as nice as you like it still reads the same.
I implied no such thing you simply took it that way .... that was reading more into a post than was actually there .... Kim riding me about this does what good and is really derailment of the thread ....

Sorry everyone, I did not mean to say or do anything that would derail this thread to the OP I am sorry ....

Dear posters,

Remember to keep this thread focused on the topic, which is the adoption of children by homosexual couples. You may not discuss the morality homosexuality unless it is a peripherial issue. If it becomes the primary topic, that would be a Rule 4.2 violation. Please be aware of that.

Remember also to keep this thread in the charity of Christ. The best "censorship" is self-censorship. Another word for it is self-control.

Psalm 119:11 "I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you."

Thank you for your attention.
