  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Don't forget to stretch!!!

Just an aging gracefully tip...

I suffer from a lot of muscle and joint pain. One thing that really helps reduce that is stretching on a daily basis. It doesn't solve the problem or cure the cause. The pain always comes back, but it is good for temporary relief, and reduces the over-all frequency and intensity of the pain.

I didn't believe this before, but I learned this through experience. When I stop stretching for a time, the pain definitely gets worse.

The stretching itself can cause pain, but it is temporary. The overall relief is much greater than the pain of doing the stretches.

Also, maintaining flexibility reduces the risk of injury when working, exercising, or in case of an accident.

There was an episode of Midsomer Murders where a graceful, elderly lady was very proud of the fact that she could bend over and touch her palms to the floor. She would demonstrate for people. I have trouble doing that in my forties! It is a physiological goal that I have. My greatest concern with doing it is my balance problems.
