CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I didn't get the impression that he was seriously considering Islam.
I am sure that the sudden, unexpected death of his wife must have shaken his faith He may have been thrown into a tailspin.
I saw the coming attractions for his upcoming film over the Christmas holidays, and it is about a man who has lost his wife--reliving this experience through film may be harrowing for him.
And at this juncture, while traveling, he found a prayer experience that comforted him.
And the author is right--he can incorporate structured, scheduled prayer into his life as a Catholic--or a Muslim, Buddhist, Protestant, Hindu, Jew....
To Liam Neeson I would quote a song: "We shall run and not grow weary, for our God will be our strength, and we will fly like the eagle, we will rise again..."
Taken from the 91st psalm--which can, I'm sure, be found in the Bible, Talmud, and Koran.
