Done with social media

Many of the people I know have gone on Instagram. Since I do not want to join Instagram, I thought it was time to leave Facebook all together. I am sick of social media now.

It's literally more than 1 year since I posted/updated anything in my Facebook page and I'm proud of it!

Many people treat it as "life achievement" contest and I can't just go on like "I don't care". We Christians should care and the best option is not bother with it like literally!

I only like Tumblr. There are some really beautiful Christian blogs lately and the nature photography blogs are great too. The world God created is so incredible I love the blogs that glorify it.

On the other hand, I really like facebook it keeps track of peoples birthdays and stuff, I can check on the news find out about new books and keep track of a lot of authors, artists and causes I'm interested in.

Facebook doesn't make me sad though.

I just think it's a waste of time...

I don't have time to like/comment on all the stuff they *each* post everyday!!!

At least them knowing I have stopped using FB, they will finally stop wondering why I don't like/comment their posts so no hard feelings against me!

Seriously, it worked out for me, no one resents me for what I did!

Actually, they could also be exaggerating a bit, trust me!

I also have a few things I can brag about in FB but I feel it's wrong and my conscience is actually bothering me about that.

But it's not mainly the reason I quite FB but seeing FB as a very serious time waster. Without FB, now I have much more time for self-improvement and studying the Word of God.

I live 1200 miles from my brother, sisters and their kids (my nieces and nephews). I would not know an ounce of what they do without getting social media updates. The young'ins today just don't pick up the phone and call or write letters. Most don't even bother with email anymore.

I used to work in the Middle East thousands of miles away from home.

We used skype for that, much better!
