There are three other cases, but maybe some intrepid prosecutor had to put the first crack in the Teflon ceiling to give the others cover. Merrick Garland has been widely and justifiably criticized for his timidity in the wake of urgent, treasonous evidence.

But now history has been made. The Teflon ceiling broken, it will be a little easier for them to make the next move.

For example, I am sure Trump will be ordered not to discuss the case after arraignment.
If he does he'll be held in contempt.

A muzzled Trump will be a lot easier to try in another city. They are biding their time.

And 30= of those years were as a democrat, a non political figure.
I don't see why that would matter. I didn't like Trump before he became a politician, and I didn't like him when he was a Democrat either.
Go ahead and think your political "candidates" are more moral.
I can only go by the available evidence. Regardless, this isn't about comparison - I dislike Donald Trump because he says and does things that I find morally objectionable.
And accept only one side is beneath the law.
No one should be above the law.

It’s about time they caught up with the left
Perhaps so. I never really gave "the party of values" much stock, as rogues seemed to be equally distributed across the political spectrum. But at least the lip service was worth something. It was a statement you could throw back in their face and there was some shame in response. That was a positive thing at least in terms of expressing respect for strong character as an important cultural value.

Now thats all just blown up, even among many Christians.

It wasn’t important for those who supported Bill Clinton. It was just sex after all. I remember Bill Maher saying “Does it make you more righteous because you do it with your wife?”

The Marxists and communist love this environment it helps them greatly to remake our country into what they want.

There you go again with the marxists and communists. There aren't that many in the US and there never were. (And almost certainly, there were more in decades past.)

If there was urgent, treasonous evidence Trump would already be in prison

I think this was after his time

Cohen pled guilty in Aug 2018 and sat for the Mueller probe in Oct 2018.
Barr took office as AG in Feb 2019. Mueller completed his report with recommendations including those related to Cohen in Mar 2019.
It was him.

Even if Trump isn't convicted, or if he's convicted but just gets a minor slap on the wrist, I think this sets a very important precedent. It demonstrates that even a former president isn't completely above the law.

And now that the precedent has been set, maybe we can get a couple more indictments going in the near future. Because that Georgia case and the classified documents case need some resolution one of these days.
It demonstrates just the opposite. The government had an easy conviction of a felony for Hunter Biden using his own laptop and they won't prosecute him. Remember Bragg said he was going to get Trump before he looked at the evidence, while he was still campaigning. On his first day in office Bragg said he would not prosecute those who resisted police arrest or those who don't pay their subway fares. The same for "attempted" assault, the guy who went crazy in that McDonalds was out of jail in three hours. Yet Bragg took a misdemeanor charge that is past the statute of limitations and tried to twist the law to turn it into a felony. More and more innocent people are attacked each day and more innocent conservatives jailed because of the extreme left wingers who have taken over the Democrat leadership. There are hard working patriotic Americans who resist the attempt to interfere in the presidential election, in 24 hours after the indictment announcement four million dollars was donated to the Trump presidential campaign.

From the linked.article —“But Honig’s book states that acting U.S. Attorney Audrey Strauss held multiple discussions with prosecutors about whether to indict Trump for his role in the case as he was about to leave office in January 2021“. And the FECs decision also didn’t involve Barr to the best of my knowledge

By the time the new admin was taking over, Trump had committed far more dangerous crimes than the Stormy Daniels hush money campaign violations. There is a whole separate thread about those.

No details of the indictment have been released by the Manhattan DA's office and the indictment remains under seal, so no one knows yet what Trump has been charged with.

That has nothing to do with Barr’s involvement or lack of it

It is the death of the rule of law.
Holding someone accountable for laws they have broken is the death of the rule of law?
Marxists and communists love this.
What Marxists and communists? There are maybe 10,000 in the entire country and none of them have any political power.
Democracy gone.
Aren't y'all always claiming we're not a democracy?
Trump is just the means to achieve it.
Nah, he's just a criminal being held accountable for his actions. Just EVERYONE should.

No, but it explains why after Barr was gone (and no longer preventing a prosecution of Trump for the SD cover-up crimes) the new management at DOJ had more pressing legal issue regarding Trump.

From which no changes have been filed two years later. The NY case is allegedly concerning the Stormy Daniels payment and possibly another payment. What is pressing?

Umm. And Gerald Ford is dead.( R.I.P.)
So isn't Generalissimo Francisco Franco. Chevy Chase, however, who played President Ford on SNL, is still very much alive.

This is nothing more than a far-leftist, who ran a "get Trump" campaign and has ties to Soros, is trying to humiliate someone on the other side of the aisle.
Memes and tropes are all well and good, but the fact is there's a 30 count indictment that will be unsealed on Tuesday. How about we wait to see if there's any substance to it before we start blaming so-called "far-leftists" and Jewish boogie men?

Wait. A former president being indicted demonstrates the opposite of a former president being not completely above the law? The rest of your post did nothing to support that nonsensical assertion.

The government had an easy conviction of a felony for Hunter Biden using his own laptop and they won't prosecute him.
If it's so easy then I'm sure you can present the specific evidence from the laptop and list the specific laws that were broken. I'm excited to learn what they are, because I haven't seen any of that myself. All I've heard about Hunter's laptop so far has been vague innuendo. Wait, what does that have to do with what we're talking about anyway? Hunter isn't a politician.

Great. Now pick apart the grand jury.
