Don’t Have the Faith to Pray

I don’t bother praying for anything anymore. There is no point. The answer is always going to be no, if the prayer is for anything that matters to me. If I don’t care or didn’t ask for it, it will be piled on me to the point of drowning under the weight of it. If it is something I actually care about, it isn’t going to happen. People say to look at what he has done in your life. I did. Important to me: extremely rare. I don’t care or don’t want : nearly 100%.

Even now I have a medical issue (diabetes complication, newly diagnosed diabetes). And to be honest I am not praying to Him about it. Again, there is no point. He won’t do anything about it. So why bother?

Stop thinking the answer is no. Jesus said to believe you have received when you pray.
Forget about receiving for a moment and realize to please God you have to believe He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. He is!
Ask and believe you have received.

Hello @Questioning Brother! I am going to be quoting verses from the King James Version (KJV), because it is a direct translation of the Hebrew and Greek text, without adding or taking anything from the word of God.

The answer is always going to be no, if the prayer is for anything that matters to me.

What are you praying for? In Philippians 4:6 it says:
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Is "anything that matters to me" materialistic things? Or is it something else, for example healing of a loved one? If something isnt given to you, it simply isnt the will of God.

Even now I have a medical issue (diabetes complication, newly diagnosed diabetes). And to be honest I am not praying to Him about it. Again, there is no point. He won’t do anything about it. So why bother?

My brother has had diabetes since he was 2 years old. My family has prayed that he would be healed for years. We never lost faith in God and never will. Similarly we never stopped praying, and until he is healed, never will.

In Romans 8:28 it says:
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Just because you dont get what you want, does not mean you should stop praying to Him. That is not a good reason. My family has been praying that my Grandfather's employees will come to work at least 5 days a week. My dad has to work 10+ hours a day because of all the slugs who dont come to work. Do we stop praying? No, and neither should you.

Only received that which I didn’t care about or didn’t want. If I did care or actually wanted it, the answer was no. Example I prayed my 20 year old daughter would be healed on this earth from COVID. I specifically prayed that he wouldn’t do the “she died, now she’s healed” bit because I didn’t want that for literally ANY reason. She died. That was the last example of a prayer that was important to me. His comfort is abhorrent to me. I never wanted his comforting. So why bother?

Well then, it wasn't the will of God that she would live. Take Job for example. Before the devil was allowed to tempt Job, he had to ask God for permission. Same with your daughter, God allowed it to happen. Nobody knows why, and despite that it is sad she is gone, by no means does that mean you should turn your back on God.

Job was also greatly blessed before and after those 7 years. Job is about a man who was greatly blessed and protected by God and had only a period in his life where he suffered. Although he did lose everything he knew the blessing of God.

Did you know that even if you stopped praying about your problems but kept on growing in God's word, you would still be delivered from diabetes & many other problems at certain stages in your life? It is actually better for us to be rooted in God's word, than to focus on praying against our problems.


God's word is fire. It burns away all the bad stuff that's in our lives. Sometimes though we might not get delivered from everything, but that's because God prefers it like that, especially if He knows that it will keep us from straying.. .

Honestly, I haven’t ever listened to anyone else. (With the exception of CD’s that my Dad burned a long time ago) The people at SBN have, proper clothing, lights on (they don’t praise God in the dark where the devil abides), and generally good music & spirit filled messages.

Oh, where do I start. Why? Explain this. Job was a Godly man who, despite years of misery and his “friends” telling him his miserable state was because he sinned, he remained faithful to God, and his wealth, family, TWICE as much as he had before.

I’m going to be blunt, I’m not allowed to judge people, God is the only one who can do that. But in Matthew 7:16-20 Jesus said:
Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Judging your fruit, you don’t seem to be behaving like a Christian should.

That is where you are wrong. You are currently going through trials in life. Imagine this: You throw tarnished and unpure gold into a fire, when you have taken the gold out of the fire, it is very beautiful. What do you think this means?

I know someone who had hypothroidism for 8 years and was developing side effects from increased medicine dosage. She decided she needed to do something about it herself and started Dr Berg's keto diet. She started noticing changes in a month and is now cured of it. I highly recommend that you follow Dr Berg's instructions. If you are serious about getting cured God will make a way for you where there seems to be no way. God is good.
