Doing Things Right

For almost 30 years, Dad told me that I was worthless and that I couldn't do anything right.

It seems that I am finally doing some things right.

James is the director of the Christian ministry that runs/manages our house.

Today....James told me, "Thank you for being here [in this house]"

James thanked me for being a positive influence to my 4 housemates.

I am humbled.

To God be the glory

You reminded me of a story about my good friend Roger. When Roger and I were young and stupid(not that we have changed much), he was always in trouble and spent too much time in jail and his parents kept throwing away the key. At that time I was a surfer and a guitar player in a punk rock band, heavy drinker, smoker and basic rogue of rogues. Yet, at that time, I loved God and His Word without condemnation and challenged Roger saying, "We can live on the edge, just don't jump!" I also led Roger's entire family to Christ!

Some years later, as a medical professional, I met a very old man who came to me for my services. He said to me, "you look like Bill, a friend of my grandson". I replied, "Who's your grandson?" He said, "Roger(last name withheld)" I replied, "Yes I am Bill, Rogers friend". What he said to me next brought me to tears; he said, "I want to thank you for being such a good influence on my grandson".

God will reward you richly. When you get to Heaven, God will place a gold crown on your head and say, "Well done, my good and faithful servant."

My dear brother, my life will have been worthwhile if I strive to actively show the love of our Lord Jesus Christ to the people around me in tangible ways....daily....
