Absolutely. That's a truism. So what?
I made no such claim. For one thing my 'version' of Christianity doesn't rely solely on the Bible. So I wouldn't go near to saying that.
Yet you're the one disputing
Good! For! You!Rev_20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
Rev_20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
Rev_20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
You know Jesus Suffered before the foundation of the earth was made!
Foundation of the earth is the planets that hold us in place!
He saw it all!He hates sin!Yet allowed it all to take place to gain a family !
He suffered seeing all this evil that was going to take place! All the suffering on earth!
not counted when He came into the flesh.Living a lonely sad life! With no one to talk with who understood! Plus being tortured ,have his beard torn out !Taking 39 hits on His back! being spit on and slapped around!
Then being nailed to the Cross All for You and me! Thank YOU LORD JESUS!
HE LOVES US MORE! Than we love ourselves!
Heb_12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
I have no fear of hell! I know He keeps me .I Do Not keep my self! Thank you LORD JESUS!
Antz, So the eternal fate of billions, whether annihilation, endless torment or - indeed - final felicity, is "hardly important"?
As I said before, there may well be a case made for WHY it has not been made clear. But to claim it is "hardly important" seems wide of the mark, at least to me.
Tariki, did not Churchill say,"Madam, for my troops, tea is more important than ammunition."
Have you got the teapot out today?
You want to go over this again?
Sighs with reliefNo, once was certainly enough.....
I'll leave my Christian friends to argue amongst themselves as to the fate of the unredeemed and meanwhile give thanks that we Pure Landers do not have an infallible book to learn from.

You do have such a book, only you don't choose to use it
Oh yes, the teapot - for an Englishman - is of prime importance. The Japanese may well have their tea ceremonies, but the perhaps less formal English ceremonies are far more profound!
Reminds me of the story told by Spike Milligan, of when, suffering from shell shock during his days in Italy, he was loaded into the back of an ambulance. And was given a cup of tea by someone unknown to him. I still remember the obvious depth of his sincerity when he spoke of his thanks to that unknown person when being interviewed on a TV chat show.
I suppose in the US it's "I'm a little coffee pot..."

Are you saying John 3:16 is about avoiding torture? whoever believes in Him shall not PERISH...Obviously there is no torture pit of hell, and I'm not mixing verses. John 3:16 contrasts perishing with eternal life and says nothing whatsoever about torture.Timothew, you're mixing verses here.
For one thing you're talking about that there's no 'eternal pit', yet you offer
John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
as a proof of this when it's not about that but avoiding that eternal torture
I don't need to "straw-man" I just quote the bible and the position of eternal torment in hell is shown to be false.Further, you're straw-manning many here who don't believe in a 'pit', but hell.
The Lake of Fire is the second death. This does not refute my position that the wages of sin are actual death. It confirms my position, that the lost are destroyed, they go to their death. Revelation 20:14 actually refutes your position, because you claim that the lost do not die the second death, but are kept alive in torment instead. Then you offer verses that actually refute your position such as
Revelation 20:14-15
Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. 15And if anyones name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
I saw his daughter in an interview. (She was behind the series The Ratties)
She told of how when her father took her and her brother for a drive in the country (when they were kids), Spike tied them to the roof of the car and took them for a spin
Being kids, they thought it was great fun
You already alluded to it when you mentioned your Christian friends
