Actually, I think it is you who are the liar. I accept evolution and other scientific discoveries and theories and I am a Christian.

So you put science before the bible,but yet you call yourself a CHRISTIAN.Remember science is part of the world and the bible is the word of GOD.You guys love to say the bible was written by man and it has flaws but you forget that When Jesus was in the world, he accepted the Old Testament as being holy scripture. Even in the small portion of Jesus' words and teachings recorded in the Gospels, he referred to almost every book of the Old Testament. Jesus frequently referred to the Old Testament in his teaching and always spoke of it and treated it as the uncorrupted word of God. He never spoke of the Old Testament as having been dictated by angels as a copy of a heavenly book. He recognised the human authors but spoke of their prophetic writings as the true word of God.

First, questioning other people's Christianity is against forum rules. Second, how is taking a non-literal interpretation of the Bible putting science before God? Third, the Bible may be inspired by God, but it was written by men. You call it the word of God, but you know what's even closer to God? His creation.

Either you can look for scientific theories in the Bible, which was written by ancient men, or you can study God's creation directly.

From my experience, difficult biblical concepts are understood by interpreting them in light of the rest of scripture. Consequently, if God tried to convey the concept of creation through evolution I would expect him to have given more than just one verse about it. On the other hand, the Bible is replete with phrases such as “God created” and “God formed” and “He created everything there is. Nothing exists that he didn’t make.”


If God created life through the mechanism of evolution then what verses support this idea? How do you draw the concept of evolution from the Bible rather than from external sources such as the physical evidence of evolution? Or, do external sources of information hold priority in your interpretation of scripture?

If you want to see the answer, show the Bible to 23,000 people of average intelligence who have never heard of the arguments on both sides, show them a Bible in their language, and ask them to tell you what it says. ZERO out of 23,000 would say day-age theory, theistic Evolution, or gap theory.

Also, if we don't believe the first 11 chapters of the Bible as real history, then there is no foundation for the rest of the Bible. Additionally, since Jesus said the wages of sin is death, this means He was either lying, or He didn't understand modern science, or He was right.

it is based on your field study which could be wrong interpretation as well or the best you can do based on the knowledge we know of the earth and such. the idea that you think your absolutly right is your problem, the need to understand it all is a big problem for most. all we understand or think we know does not have to fit into scripture. Boy, people here sure do focus on what's unimportant than on what's important! Jesus meant when man first appeared on the earth. The bible explains how we were created and who created us. The "we" referred to in Genesis is God and Christ. And the OT was written long before men ever met Christ!

Funny that.
When it was written, "all scripture" referred to what we call the Old Testament. The NT is not included in 2Tim 3:16, as such didnt exist and wasnt considered scripture.

More to the point though, I guess Followers4christ is saying that "God Breathed" cant possibly mean that God would ever speak in metaphor or use poetic styles to communicate

When the Bible says 6 days, it really means 6 days.
When Jesus says he's the True Vine, he really means he's a big leafy vine in heaven.
When Paul says the man is the head of the woman, he really means the man is RULER of the woman
