I'm referring to actual evidence, not a silly documentary with an agenda. Maybe next I should watch the "documentary" on ancient aliens?
Not one enemy of Egypt seized the opportunity? And if they were trembling so much, why didn't they record anything about it?
Your like a machine gun with your questions. Lets start with one word and we can explain that. Most every word in the Bible when it comes to creation would take a whole book to understand and explain. You ask: "How do you explain the "year" reference God made on the day He created the heavenly bodies? " The work God did on day four was in the firmament. The firmament effects the light as it passes through the atmosphere. Even the ocean filters out light. That is why for the most part the ocean is blue because most all the other colors are filtered out.Joshua, did you read the entire post I wrote to the other Joshua? How do you explain Exodus 20:11? How do you explain year reference in day 4 when God created the heavenly bodies
Hi Joshua. Did you read my whole post to the other Joshua? How do you explain Exodus 20:11? How do you explain the "year" reference God made on the day He created the heavenly bodies? How do you explain sin, it's penalty, and the substitutionary death of Jesus? Can you explain a long age view without putting death before Adam?
It sounds like you have a non-literal definition of literal.
Joshua, refusing to believe Genesis about the straightforward creation by God and the worldwide flood provides a nice foundation for rejecting the literal, bodily return of Jesus Christ.
And in the same passage talking about people who reject creation and the flood, there is a verse the same take out of context.
2 Peter 3:3-9
3 knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, 4 and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.” 5 For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water, 6 by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water. 7 But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
8 But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
What is wrong with believing God created as He said, in six literal days (evening, morning, night, day, first, second, etc.)? Is your concept of God that He is too weak to do it? Too weak that He had to take millions of years? Too weak that He couldn't create good things to start with, that He had to have death assist in the creation process and then pin it on Adam?
God is outside of time, so He can go back in time. If for example someone needs healing from a event or incident that happened to them as a child then they can pray for God to go back to that point in time to bring about the healing they need.Since we can't do time travel,
Why would anyone make such an error? That's fine.
But why discuss the Grand Canyon with someone, when you don't think the earth was segmented into continents by its Creator?
I'm only going to say one thing. There's a documentary on Netflix to address to Exodus question:
Patterns of Evidence: Exodus
http://m.imdb.com/title/tt3464018/
Egypt probably wouldn't want to agree to the history of the Exodus, although perhaps they care less today. The country was all but destroyed from the ten plagues, and then when the Egyptians pursued Israel through the Red Sea, the Pharaoh and his entire army on chariots perished. The other nations heard about it and trembled, even forty years later when Israel finally began to conquer Canaan.
I really don't get the sense that you care about truth if truth is Biblical. No point in wasting each other's time.
What are you doing on Christian Forums anyway? Just here to try to destroy as many people's faith as you can? Yeah, I thought so. You are deceived. Satan wants you to join him some day in the lake of fire, taking as many with you as possible. But God doesn't want anyone to perish. He doesn't take pleasure in the death of anyone--and that means you, too. Good day.
I'm so impressed that you can watch a two hour movie in less than 20 minutes.
Good point. Let's assume for a bit that your God is real. Why would he tell people that could not understand even the concept of a simple cell how they evolved? Why would he tell people that do not even understand simple erosion and deposition how plate tectonics works? Clearly if there was a God he could not have explained to terribly much to a bunch of sheep herders. Simple morality tales make much more sense. And then you would not have to deal with a "lying God". When you claim that God made the Earth so that it "looks old" you are claiming that God lies. If the Earth was not old there would be no reason to make it seem that way. Literalism leads to a lying God, something that most Christians have a huge problem with.Okay ... use the Flood then.
Why ask for the mechanics behind how the Grand Canyon was formed, if you don't believe the Flood was global in the first place?
Why would a person, who can barely add, ask someone to explain calculus to them?
No you can't and the method you cite is better referred to as the deny and ignore God, the spiritual, and history method. You impose bad beliefs on evidence, and turn around and expect a medal for so doing. You stopped a bit prematurely. We can also gather evidence that the past events produced, and then use that evidence to test our hypotheses. Perhaps you have heard of this. It is called the scientific method.
The truth is God lead the operation personally, and He doesn't leave messes as you expect. LOOK AT MANNA!I care about the truth, and the truth is, there's zero archaeological evidence to support a literal Exodus story. Nada.
Manna disappeared each day, that is the sort of remains the Almighty leaves. My friend Jesus was there. What the aitch? Were you there?

"literal, bodily return of Jesus Christ." I believe in a literal return of Jesus based on what the Angels said as He departed. Most likely His return will be somewhere around the year 2036.
Hey, you guys ought to look at a chapter that has advanced physics in it, that is still above modern science's wildest dreams. Not only that, but the section is even spoken directly by God no man involved! Do I need to cite the reference or do you know what I mean?I think the term you're actually looking for is deceitful rather than "lying", but otherwise I agree with you. In fact I've used that very same argument.
Israel conquered most of them. The movie mentions two towns specifically where the archeology matches the Biblical account.
Rahab gives us a picture of how the nations trembled. She survived because she feared God and helped the Israelite spies. She ended up being in the line of David and Jesus.
If God created a loaf of raisin bread ex nihilo, did He lie? When you claim that God made the Earth so that it "looks old" you are claiming that God lies.
If God created a loaf of raisin bread ex nihilo, did He lie?
After all, raisin bread contains raisins (aged grapes).
