Does my dog know something?

This may be stupid, but do you think dogs know when you're about to have a baby? Our dog is acting super-strange, sticking right to me, and won't even go for a walk (her favorite thing) unless I come too.

I'm due any time. Could she know this?

Dogs smell hormones, so do lots of other preditor type animals.

All the female dogs I know act funny and the two male dogs I know actually growl at me now since become pregnant.

I seem to recall our female dog acting kind of strange toward the end of my last pregnancy. I think my hormones were affecting her.

Our male dog just acted sad, I think because he couldn't sit on my lap anymore.

It's possible. My dog knew I was pregnant before I did; she started acting wierd from within a few days of conception. SHe has calmed down now. I'll have to watch her come August.

I think so, dogs are clever that way - it was my parents dogs who gave me the first indication that I might be pregnant, I would have been only around 4 or 5 weeks along and i was at my parents and both of them (a male and a female) stuck to me like glue, wherever I went, they went, I went to the toilet, they tried to come in with me that kind of thing.

I'll have to watch my dog and see if she starts to act strange any time soon, I'm due any day now as well though my official due date is Friday.
