  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Does 'Goddidit' constitute an explanation?

You are quite wrong in your assumptions. As well as loving, God is just, righteous and holy. Pull Him out of context and veiw Him with skepticism and you will ALWYAS have a distorted veiw of who God really is.

Shuting up your opposition (permanently) by killing them is loving, just, righteous and holy. It is even more loving, just, righteous and holy than changing their minds.

And making up stories to defend such a worldview is the most loving, just, righteous and holy of all.

What if we did the same for dictators? Praise them and worship them as just, without really taking into account or looking at their actions.

God must preform just actions in order to be just. He is not just without regard to his actions.

Otherwise, it is just an appeal to authority.

Then square circles would be no problem with God.

It's interesting that on a merry-go-round, the outer horses move faster than the inner ones, yet both remain parallel.

So can God exist and not-exist?

Does being omnipresent yet unseen and undetectable count?
To detect something is to discover or determine the existence, presence or fact of something. So you are saying that no one has ever discovered or determined the existence or presence of your God. I think you’re right. In which case, how can people say they are absolutely certain that their God exists if no one has ever discovered or determined that it exists?

You better be ready.
Is that Christian love? What do you hope to accomplish with statements like this? This statement leads me to the following conclusions:

  • Christians derive pleasure from the idea that those with whom they disagree will suffer for eternity.
  • Christians lack the ability to produce viable arguments, so they resort to threats.
  • Christian faith is fragile.
Assuming there are actually people earnestly seeking answers and wanting to understand, don't you realize that you're doing nothing but pushing them away? Why would you do that?

Does being omnipresent yet unseen and undetectable count?
Toward being non-existent, illogical, and imaginary? Yes.

Doveaman gave MoonLancer good advice, CoderHead.
I don't think so. "Good" advice would be constructive. What Doveaman posited was nothing more than a threat. It's identical in every way to a bully saying, "you'd better not be touching my backpack!"

That's because you apparently don't understand what happens when an unregenerated person meets God.

Indeed, I promise you, MoonLancer is indeed going to get his wish, as are all of us.

That's a good question. If you keep asking yourself that rather then assuming you know what it is through faith instead of knowledge you may just find it.
My faith is knowledge based.
I will surly listen to Jesus message if he had decency to diver it in person.
Did Buddha deliver his message to you in person?

What my statement intended was "It is better for you to be ready".

Is that better?

No. Better to be ready for what? Is this just another way to rephrase Pascal's Wager?
I just can't win, can I? Oh, well...
