Does God Still perform Miracles???
Part 4
13 years latter and now the doctor tells me I might have cysts forming on my brain because of the operation that was performed. I put off having the MRI as long as I could. Not that I didnt want to know, I do. Its just that Ive put my family through enough in the past 13 years. God has been good to me and even though I havent worked in all this time HE found other ways to make use of me. I no longer ask, Why me? I ask, What else would You have me do? I dont think Ill ever work again, but thats not for me to say. Now a days I spend my time helping others who think they are at their end.
I have a very good friend, Irene, who lost her husband almost two years ago. Since then Ive spent countless hours teaching her the Internet and how to use email to the fullest. She spends many hours on the computer emailing her family and friends and just enjoying life. You see she has lost almost all her hearing and email has changed that. Now she no longer has to keep asking people to repeat themselves. They simply type her an email and she can respond with no problems. Ive taken her from an old 386 computer to a Pentium 4 with all the perks. She now can surf the net with the best of us. Tomorrow Ill be going over to her house to install a greeting card program. She loves to send cards and Ive taught her how to do this on her computer. She loves the fact that she can even have the program make her envelopes. Irene now looks forward to going online and chatting with her family and friends. She knows she can email me or call me any time. The best part of it all is that she can do this on her time. She gets up very early and goes to bed early. Many times she wakes up during the night and instead of worrying about things she goes online and writes email.
Then theres my friend Bud. He was the master carpenter at the church I attend. He is now in his 80s and has moved away from the area. I lost contact with him for about two years. Then out of the blue he called me. He told me how sorry he was for ever moving and wishes he never had. He told me how much he missed coming to church. You see his eye sight got very bad and he kept trying to drive. After about four accidents his son insisted he not drive any more. After his last accident he spent almost a month in the hospital. Thank God he didnt hurt anyone in his accidents. He would just run into things and total his cars. Where he moved wasnt very close to anyone and I and another friend convinced him to move back closer to us. After a year of trying to sell his old house and move into a new one it finally happened. We helped him move and ever since Ill been picking him up for church and taking him every where he needs to go. He still has his son and family but his needs are more than they can provide. I fill in where ever needed. ie .. Taking him to doctor appointments. Running him into Philadelphia every now and then to see specialist. Taking him shopping, just picking him up to walk around Home Depot. My friend Bruce and I keep him busy working on his new place. You have to realize that he was and still is a carpenter and master builder. Even with his eye sight going he still works with wood and saws. Bruce has been blessed with a job that pays very well. When he hears that Bud wants to build something he goes out and buys whatever Bud needs. Then we tell him that these are things weve has laying around that are leftovers from projects around our homes. So far Bud has paneled the inside of his new place, built a huge shed to house his saws and equipment. Believe me when I say his has a lot of STUFF. Buds latest project was to build an addition into the front entrance of his house. I cant tell you how many hours Bruce and I have spent helping him along with buying the supplies. If Bud didnt have something to do with his hands I think hed pass quickly. But thanks to Bruces generosity and help Bud will be around for some time to come. You see Bud gave Bruce his first job working for him. Between Bud and Bruce they built many, many houses. Bruce has never forgotten that and to this day we take Bud to breakfast ever Sunday and pay for him. Bud will never have to pay for another breakfast on Sunday mornings as long as Bruce and I are around.
Back to me Sorry for drifting off. In the past 13 years Ive gone back to school and learned the computer very well. I mastered AutoCad and even worked for a short time with one of the professors that started his business back up after he retired from teaching. We worked until he ran out of work. Now I trouble shoot his computer along with many other peoples. I advise them as to what computer they need and what programs to purchase. I go to their homes and teach them the programs and set up their computers. They call me when ever they have a problem and I either fix it over the phone or go out to their homes to correct the problems. Some times I get paid for my services, but I let them know that they are helping me as much as I am helping them.
Because of going back to school I really got into computers and started in with the internet. LOL I remember surfing the net before windows. You talk about confusing. Sometimes I didnt know who or even where I had gotten into. I go back to computers taking up whole rooms. Life is good and God is Good. I know my wife would love to see me go back to work, but every time I try I run into a brick wall, ME. Enough said about that.
As far as whats going on right now, Im not sure. Ive had pressure building up in my head for the last month. I thought it was sinus, but now Im not sure. The pain I keep feeling behind my eyes sometimes causes me to take my glasses off and not put them back on for the rest of the day. Im forgetting things that I shouldnt, important things. I start one thing only to end up not finishing it and doing something else. Not because I have too many things to do but because I forget what Im doing and start something else. Maybe Im just a worry wart. Time and prayer will tell. I will continue posting stories and emailing my online friends until I can no longer. Thank you all for being my friends. I could not have chosen better ones if I tried. Ill keep you posted as to whats happening and with Gods help get through this too.
YFIC,
Richard
