  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

We are going to have a New Years Extravaganza at Church this year. For two hours, from 11 to 1 o'clock, we are going to go live on our TV station. We cover all of Cleveland and most of the surrounding area. So we know that there will be people fliping through the stations and they will see something that they have never seen before.

The problem is, that people are complaining. They think that it is going to be a lot of work. This is a live production and it is getting treated that way, even with a full dress rehearsal. But for me, I do not see what the problem is. If they have to make a sacrifice, if they have to put out a little bit of effort. God is going to reward them for it, He will pour out His blessing to where it is more then they will be able to contain.

The enemy has deceived people into thinking that we get something for nothing. Salvation is a free gift. But if we want to serve God, that requires some effort and work on our part. But God will more than reward us and then some.

I hear people say: God should do this or God should do that for them. Why? What did they do for God. To many people expect something for nothing, without putting out anything on their part. They think that God should prove Himself to them. When actually it is them who need to prove themselves to God.

He gives us eternal life as a free gift. Isn't that enough? Beyond that, we need to roll up our sleaves and get out there and do our part of we want more from Him. The promises of God are conditional, if we do our part, we can be sure that He will do His.

Then people ask, why does God allow this or why does God allow that. They think He should take the devil out of here, so the devil does not tempt people or lead them astray. That is fine, but God would have to destroy all the people out there that are living in rebellion, right along with the devil. They seem to think it is alright to destroy the devil in his rebellion, but God should not destroy them, even though they are in just as much rebellion against God.

God is patient and long suffering, not wanting anyone to perish, but for all to repent & come to a saving knowledge of the truth. But all who continue in rebellion against God, can expect that God's patience is going to run out for them someday. All who refuse to repent of their rebellion, can expect their just reward. They can expect to end up in the lake of fire.

Would a God of justice do that? You bet He will, because He is a God of absolute and perfect justice. In order to be forgiven, Jesus had to pay the price for us. But now the debt has been paid and we can be forgiven. Our sin debt can be stamped: Paid in Full. We can be washed and cleansed in the Precious Blood of Jesus. We can be justified before God.

God's offer of salvation & restoration is a free gift.  Beyond that, if we want anything from God, we need to do our part. Then we can be sure that He will more than do His part, above and beyond all that we would ever think, or ask for.

Great post. Wrong forum though.

It is the right fourm, because it is a claim that God is subject to the scientific methoid. That is, if two people do the same thing, they will get the same results.

For example, so many people say: Prove God to me. But I say prove your own value and worth to God and He will prove Himself to you. People who are willing to do nothing, can expect to get nothing in return.

So many people say: Why does God not do this, that or the other. I say why should He? What have you done for God? To many people do nothing and expect something in return.

This is a violation of the rules of science and that of cause and effect. God created the laws of this universe, and He follows them. He gives us the ability to be able to understand the rules of the universe so we can follow them also.

People say a miracle is something that violates the natural laws of the universe. Not true. A miracle is something that restores things to their origional purpose and intention. Miracles do not violate law they restore law and order and the natual flow of things.

We do not have to get up off of our butts and go to work. But if we do, then we can expect a return or a reward for our efforts. If we choose to do nothing, then atrophy and stagnation will set in.

Jesus did not have to endure the shame of the cross. He did not have to suffer for us. But He choose to endure for our sake and for the joy set before Him. The reward or the return was worth the price He had to pay, to obtain it.

I am just tired of people who do nothing, and expect to get something in return. They live in la la land. That is why I posted this on this forum, because science believes in cause and effect.
