Who do you want to run for president in the USA? I would like to hear some overseas opinions.

1. Joe Biden (D)
2. Donald Trump (R)
3. Nikki Haley (R)
4. Chris Christie (R)
5. Liz Cheney (R)
6. Pete Buttigieg (D)
7. RFK (Other)
8. Some other choice (write-in)
All of those people who haven't already been president have already been rejected for the job in the primaries.

I blame the parties for failing these days to groom people through the ranks. They used to do that. Now, each party appears to be surprised when someone decides to run.

I was asking @NBB , as he is from Uruguay (South America), as it is fun to get an international perspective on things. But yes, both parties have no idea how to select candidates.

I don't know about candidates from USA, i know Trump at least is inclined to defend a bit (supposedly) more traditional values like christian morals.

I have talked to a Christian Republican here, and he thinks none of the candidates stand up for Christian morals. What does Psalm 10:2-7 represent to you? For me, it sounds vaguely familiar.

Psalm 10:2-7 (NIV): In his arrogance the wicked man hunts down the weak, who are caught in the schemes he devises. He boasts about the cravings of his heart; he blesses the greedy and reviles the Lord. In his pride the wicked man does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God. His ways are always prosperous; your laws are rejected by him; he sneers at all his enemies. He says to himself, “Nothing will ever shake me.” He swears, “No one will ever do me harm.” His mouth is full of lies and threats; trouble and evil are under his tongue.

I see two sides nowadays. The woke side teaching immoral stuff, and the Trump side focusing on his own self instead of being humble. Some of us will abstain from voting this year, or hold our breath.

Like some people say here, it would be better to vote for the least worse, or better than nothing.
If not the other side can win.

That is true. I will wait until November before choosing the candidates, cos hopefully Joe and Trump can drop out.

The military has an acronym: FUBAR, pronounced Foo-bar. It means (PG-13 version) "Fouled Up Beyond All Recovery."

One candidate's administration will fill the government with Marxists, the other candidate will fill the government with fascists.

At this point, I'm sure either candidate will foul up the country, but I'm not sure which will foul up the country beyond all recovery.

I agree that that NBC and CNN were covering up Bidens decline.
I have been disturbed by recent White house correspondents dinners, the Journalists were giddy to be there and clearly worship Biden as a symbol.
They seem to be half as compromised as a someone that still supports Trump after Jan 6th which is beyond the pale

Vermin Supreme might still be available? @64 He’s got a lot of life left in him! (If his IQ is anywhere near his age number we’ll be “okay”!)
Or ”The Rent is Too [Darned] High!” guy might still be kickin’?

I was glad to find he Jimmy "the rent is too bleeping high" Mcmilan is still kicking, born in 1946 so age is an issue, They could make an NFT of his poster and have that run for president

Biden's so mentally gone there's multiple threads about him dropping out of the race, but even in those threads he's also portrayed as sharp enough to lead a conspiracy to fill the government with "Marxists" that no one has seen.

The stories are fascinating, if not particularly compelling.

I'd probably go with the Rent guy (he was big over a decade ago), as I feel bad for New Yorker City and the high rent over there.

Neither man need be "sharp enough to lead" anything. Both would be useful for the people they bring into office that will control the bureaucracy under them.

Sure, but what's that got to do with the idea the man is plotting a secret plan to fill the government with Marxists?
Assuming the previous post wasn't just satire of right-wing mischaracterizations of the guy's polices, of course.

I don't think Biden is plotting anything...I don't think he has the capacity to do any "plotting."

But people working for him do, and everyone subscribing to Critical Theory or its spin-offs (like Critical Race Theory and Critical Gender Theory) is subscribing to Marxist ideology. That's not even a conspiracy theory, the Critical Theorists themselves say so.

Is Critical theory a valid way to describe systems in a way that is more precise about what is going on in those systems, and what’s wrong with that?
