bioturbation only happens near the top where the animals can get oxygen . If you see this all through a layer it’s because the older top gets buried slowly . This would be washed away in a violent flood because it’s mud not solid rock when the animals are living in it

Does believing Genesis is wrong make me a bad Christian?

Yes. It's compulsory to believe that Genesis is true. For example, God created the universe. That's in the Nicene Creed, which is CF's Statement of Faith.

It's OK to believe that some parts of Genesis are poetic. For example, God may have created the universe using evolutionary mechanisms.

The science to do with creation is necessarily the most sophisticated of all. Therefore we would expect those parts of the Word of God with sciency-type content to be the last to be understood. Science has to advance before the technical (not personal - powerful) meaning comes clear.
Science has now advanced to the level where it is obvious what Genesis and other origins-related parts are saying -- technically. The Devil knew what they were saying -- technically -- all along. He was there (in his unfallen state) when everything was made! It isn't doing him any good, knowing the technicalities!

So knowing sciency stuff doesn't rate compared to knowing the God who created the science.
