  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Someone please tell me they remember this commercial and can give me some information about it. I have searched and searched but haven't been able to find it anywhere online, even though I am positive that it's a real commercial.

It aired in late 2002 or early 2003. It showed a department store mannequin - the dummies you see displayed in clothing stores like JCPenney to show off clothes on sale. The mannequin was standing in the window of a store. Then, its blouse or sweater or shirt (I can't remember which) was dirty, so the commercial showed the mannequin riding an escalator (the mannequin didn't actually move) to wash its blouse/sweater/shirt. The shirt eventually gets cleaned and dried. The end of the commercial showed the mannequin standing in the store window again, except that its blouse/sweater/shirt was clean.

Does anyone know:
1. What product was being advertised in this commercial? I know it was advertising either a laundry detergent or washer/dryer.
2. The title of the background music of this commercial (assuming the music wasn't created specifically for the commercial)
3. Where I could find this commercial.

It would make my Christmas even merrier if someone could answer any of the questions above - or even just acknowledge that this commercial did indeed exist. Thank you.

EDIT: I found out some information. This was a Dryel commercial from 2003.

I remember it but I have slept since then. ;)

I do remember the mannequin on the escalator though.

ETA: Do a google of Dryel+mannequin commercial and you get a fewsites where they talk about it. Maybe one of them knows what you are hoping to find.
