• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Does anyone know?

Does anyone know why there are particular seasons in our lifes? for instance I have been in communication with soemone and now it appears as though all communication has stopped. I just wonder if God is doing this or if the person in particular no longer wishes to speak with me. anyway just trying to obtain some thoughts and discussion.

I've been there. In my case, we never did regain the friendship that had started, but I hope it will be different for you.

God works in odd ways sometimes. Trust that He'll either bring that person back in your life, or He'll bring someone else in your life who is more suited for you at this time. Oh, and this applies to both friendships AND relationships.

Joeman...sometimes the Lord has a way of cutting people out of our lives for our own good...and for the good of the other person. He doesn't want us straying from Him (not to say that YOU have...I don't know your situation), but if this person was becoming a stumbling block for you or quite simply becoming a hindrance b/t you and God, then I'd say He most definately did this to spare you future hurt down the road. For, we're to put God first in our lives, no one else. And once you become married, when the Lord wills it, both you and your wife will grow together IN Christ, leaving God at the head of your relationship..which is where He belongs.
I believe God also cuts ppl out of our lives at just the right time, too; so that the ppl can grow on their own, separetely and possibly come back together when all is in accordance w/ God and His will. I hope and pray this helps you abit. :)

my only question is why did it have to be so suddenly and without any acknowledgement that it was over. I guess your right though and I have been focusing more on the Lord I just hope that one day all of my expectations are met. To be honest I have felt such peace and contentment this past week knowing that the Lord has everything in his hands but I would still like to contiue talking with this person it really helped through the rest of the day even if it was just "hi".

peace and contentment??? :) awesome!! And, the Lord WILL help you through those rough days when you just wanna talk to this person...but, realize that your greatest friend & confidante in the whole WORLD is God; the One who loves you, always has & always will...the One who knows you (and situations) better than you know yourself (and He sees the 'bigger' picture, even though we may not). Just continue trusting in Him, seek Him and His word and the path will stay lit for you.

Well just to recap it does appear that all communication has stopped between me and this person. Over I guess the past 2 months I have sent like 4-5 emails and no response. then the other day I sent her an e-greeting card and I know that she accessed it but there still has been no reply from her. well I have decided to let go of things that I have experienced and hold onto the Lord because He knows me better than I even know myself.

A few months ago I thought if my ex and I broke up it would just be awful. I thought I'd be devastated. The fact that we are friends helps I guess...anyway, I'm not devastated. God has given me a peace about it and has brought several Godly people into my life to encourage me and help me understand God has the perfect plan. I did learn many things from my ex and I wish God's very best for him. Sometimes I think God brings people into our lives for a reason, usually to bring us closer to Him or to help us serve Him somehow. Sometimes it's for companionship. The one thing I've learned is that we will have seasons in our lives and you just have to trust God and ride the waves and LIVE life! :)
