• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

does anyone get better?

so what if its the doubting disease ask anyone to tell u how you can know your doubts were caused and remain because of ocd they can't that's ludicrous to think a disorder can cause doubt about something like if Gods there. I think it can make you think u doubt when u don't but it can't make u doubt God exists it doesn't control intellect and faith. so yes if you doubt he is there firewall nit this i really know i believe deep down stuff then yes we are sc%*-*d.

in my case it has given me a feeling of belief in the false thoughts.I have to fight to not believe them.it happened just a few minutes ago.now it is gone.look I can tell you are in pain as am i .i do not know why you think i have any answers. If what
i have is not ocd .That doesn't make me less in turmoil.I believe it to be ocd because it is non stop and some of it from any point of view is nonsense.
can a mental disorder make you think you want to kill your child? ocd can.Can a mental disorder make you think you ran over some one with a car?
ocd can.

why do we go to hell if we don't have ocd doubt but just doubt no one asked for that either.
believing god is good if he makes a judgement it has to be good.
What if a person never heard about Jesus? are they damned? These are age old questions and far beyond me.i only know I want to believe in god and now these cursed thoughts keep churning out blasphemies.
Why you keep asking me for answers when I am in the worse trouble and shape of my life is a mystery to me.

I totally agree OCD can make you think you did hit a child etc. but deep down you know that's not logical. If you doubt God exists but part of you know it is irrational to believe he doesn't exist you have OCD. I am scared because I think it is more rational God is not there but I don't want to be wrong so I probably don't have OCD.

I couldn't take SSRIs because they made my OCD worse. I am on meds for a few different disorders and it takes care of some of my OCD but I also try to identify when the OCD is bad in my thoughts and then dismiss the OCD thinking as not being me but the OCD. I hope that makes sense.

today I almost lost It.I do not know how much longer I can go on.I have images and feel like I believe the thoughts.I t gets harder and harder to push away the truth as my faith gets weaker.
The ocd is always strong but I grow weaker. My family says what would happen if you agree with the thoughts? nothing wold happen.I feel as long as I can I have to fight them or I will believe them.I see my new therapist tomorrow.Number 4.It takes time to find a good one.I had more strength with the first two.I feel like I am going to break down.I have asked god to take me and to help.
here I am still in pain and still getting worse. If I could just have a break to regroup.but they keep comming.

you got a mp3 player? I highly suggest tuning into like k-love.com (streaming), or download some Christian music on your player and go for a walk. If you think you cant, then force yourself. workout. sweat. It really helps release natural endorphins, that in turns starts to "slowly" disconnect those thoughts that are just stuck in neutral, if you will. Are you taking in any caffeine? I HIGHLY suggest getting off of it or cutting waaaay back. Eat bananas and try this tea: YOGI Stress Relief. It really helped me. Brother, I KNOW what your going through. BUT... you can't sit there and be complacent. Action. No matter how small. Until you meet your next therapist. Don't wait for that next appointment. Switch it up now. Go the next 2-4 days without going on the computer, however hard that may be. You'll get there, I promise. I'm praying for you man. Hang tight. :) With brotherly Christian love. the Big Koda Dog.
