Does any one find Bible College a bit too much?

Take this with a grain of salt coming from one of the largest slackers who is passing with above a 3.25 GPA from Ozark Christian college (occ.edu)

No my school is not easier than any other school i have seen or have had friends go to, ranging from CBC (cinn) to St lious Christian, Florida Christian, Laterno (enginering school in Texas that is christian if i remember right), UF (Gators).

All schools and classes have alot of work, i tend to be someone that just has fun and not let any of it bother me. my work is usually turned in on-time and recieves a good grade on it. Fact is if you are feeling overwhelmed it comes down to a couple of things

Time management, and priorities.

Really you can feel overwhelmed doing anything in your life. over the summer for fun, i am serious here, i worked about 10-16hr days and had a social life on top of that, there where times i didnt sleep, it was what i wanted and i was having fun, never did i feel overwhelmed during the summer like something was to big for me to get done. (asst manager for international marketing company can be stressful for some, you should have seen my fellow co-workers at meetings ^_^ ) set your goals and just do it, if you are feeling bible college is way to much, maybe cut down your hours, or even go back to a regular univserity and work up some general education and good study habits there. just my two cents.
Yes it would be relevant if I was a slacker or if i had problems with priorities and time managment but I am one very organised person. my time is managed with a schedual. I am not talking mainley of the work load. It is the effect of what you learn and experience at Bible College that affects you on a level you never thought existed. But the work load adds to the experience whereby you have to deal with both the academic side, your involvement with Church, College life, college relationships with students and and so many other issues that seem to come out of nowwhere but originate from what you are wrestling with what you are learning about. The Bible college experience is life changing and character changing and if you imagine what has to happen to a person to have those type of dramatic changes going on, you would understand the effect Bible College can have on a person and how hard it can be.

Exactly! :)

okiemommy26, did you get married before you started going to school? I'm in a difficult situation. I have my first year all completed (unless a lot of my courses don't transfer) but I'm moving to South Carolina to be with my fiance. We're hoping to get married in October if the fiance visa goes through and everything. And then he's going to go back to school. How was it not having a "real job" for so long? How was money? And how is going back to school when (no offense) you're a fair bit older than everyone else?
Yes i have been married for 7yrs this year and i just start college this semester. Well im used to be a stay at home mommy it is tight but we are making it my hubby is also going to college too and he is the one that is working. We know it will be hard for a few years till we get out of college but if we dont do it now then i dont think it would never be a good time to go back. The reason i decided to go is cause i really think God called me to be a teacher and without His will I wouldnt be in college now and making the grades I am. It all comes down to Gods will, if its his will for you two to do what you have planned then go for it. Just pray alot about it.

HA:) I didnt read all the replies, but Ive done my time at bible school and now at a technical school, and honestly, there is no comparison. Bible School has you dealing with spiritual things in a spiritual environment, surrounded by people accepting of these things, and the academic load (for me at least, in the two colleges Ive attended) was laughable to moderate. I might have just got it easy though. Secular school that I attend now, i deal with the same issues spiritually except in an environment not accepting of it, with people who dont know whats going on (for instance trying to remain abstinent etc etc), Im taking 23 bloody credits, its earthbound hell:)

If anything Ill say that I miss Bible School. Unfortunately, I have noticed that people in the school Im at now are much more REAL with what they believe, and practicing what they preach (whatever that is) as compared to my BS experience with the floating bubble children all talking a walk they didnt intend to ever do. Sorry if this post is a tad negative
