Does any one find Bible College a bit too much?

Yes the work can be challenging but when you think its becoming challenging just pray, I have two kids, a house and husband, plus Im a sunday school teacher for 0-12yrs and A childrens church teacher. Believe me its a challenge to do all that and school, I myself go to a Christian school. When i get overwhelmed all i can do is turn to God. And Brutus you are right to keep in mind your Goals and why God put you there in the first place. It always helps to remember that.

That's true. And what are your goals? (Thanks for the compliment by the way.)
Okay, my goal is to do everything I can to open up my life for every blessing God wants to give me. Evangelism is part of that.

College in general gets to be pretty hard. Its right around that time of finals and last minute papers... I'm definitely feeling the strains of it all and to top it off, there's just been other things that have kinda fallen into my lap along with finals and crunch time. One of the 'benefits' of being at a smaller Christian college is, my professors grant us 'grace' hehehe. They've also been very understanding and have prayed with me and that much is appreciated.

Wow, must be nice. I attend a fairly small Christian university and unless you're sick in the hospital or suicidal or something like that, they won't give you any grace.

Take this with a grain of salt coming from one of the largest slackers who is passing with above a 3.25 GPA from Ozark Christian college (occ.edu)

No my school is not easier than any other school i have seen or have had friends go to, ranging from CBC (cinn) to St lious Christian, Florida Christian, Laterno (enginering school in Texas that is christian if i remember right), UF (Gators).

All schools and classes have alot of work, i tend to be someone that just has fun and not let any of it bother me. my work is usually turned in on-time and recieves a good grade on it. Fact is if you are feeling overwhelmed it comes down to a couple of things

Time management, and priorities.

Really you can feel overwhelmed doing anything in your life. over the summer for fun, i am serious here, i worked about 10-16hr days and had a social life on top of that, there where times i didnt sleep, it was what i wanted and i was having fun, never did i feel overwhelmed during the summer like something was to big for me to get done. (asst manager for international marketing company can be stressful for some, you should have seen my fellow co-workers at meetings ^_^ ) set your goals and just do it, if you are feeling bible college is way to much, maybe cut down your hours, or even go back to a regular univserity and work up some general education and good study habits there. just my two cents.

It's a strain. I went to a university before I went to a Bible College, and the difference is radical, but good. Lately God has been teaching me that as a Bible College Student, I should probably have no time to lolligag whatsoever, because I should either be searching the Scriptures, doing schoolwork, or doing ministry. I'm just thankful that I don't have a job. I know some students who are taking full-time course load, working 20 hours a week at a job, and working 10 hours a week in a church. It is stressful, but it is so rewarding, I think, once you just surrender all your time to ministry, education, and spiritual growth.

Woa Woa Woa God wants you to survive bible college and not burn out before your done. You need some R and R time or just some goof off time. You need to proiritize your time and focus on scripture reading prayer etc... but I do think it is important to just be a college student and its even better since you are around other Christians at a bible college and you can "probally" trust them not to get you into the wrong type of trouble. The guys always do crazy stuff like pile up matresses in the hall and then we put a chair out there and we run down the hall and do a flip off the chair.

I am a youth minister/full time student/waiter at applebees. I work at applebees monday and thursdays do youth ministry wensday nights and all day sunday and some in between (youth ministry is a 24/7 job though) then I am married that takes special TLC as well. I have alot on my plate but I worked it out so that I have tuesdays off and friday and saturdays for my wife but alot of weekends we have youth ministry stuff going on.

I have yet to get it through to some of my friends here at school but you can go to a church get a youth ministry job/Intern that will probally pay you $100-200 a week. Its great expereince and fun. Yes you will have work to do for it during the week but if you manage your time you can still have alot of time to do things you like for fun. Also the benifits of being a youth minister I get to take the teens to places that I like to go to ;) ;) so its a ton of fun for everyone.

Just be sure it's God's will. Cause if it is, then college will be a blast!
I dont think going to a bible college could be outside of Gods will unless he needs you to be in a secular school to witness to people there. I would still say to go to a bible college for at least a year and then transfer. My college set up the first year of classes to be an awesome foundation for anyone that is coming here for just a year. everything else is just more in depth of the scriptures.

Anything can be out of God's will, he has certian places he wants you to go then you should go if its a christian school or a secular school. You never know where He is going to lead you, but that is one of the mysteries of life and its fun to find out lol.

Exactly! :)

okiemommy26, did you get married before you started going to school? I'm in a difficult situation. I have my first year all completed (unless a lot of my courses don't transfer) but I'm moving to South Carolina to be with my fiance. We're hoping to get married in October if the fiance visa goes through and everything. And then he's going to go back to school. How was it not having a "real job" for so long? How was money? And how is going back to school when (no offense) you're a fair bit older than everyone else?
